Question about Vizio L32 32 in. LCD HDTV
Bought my mother a new 22" Vizion flatscreen tv in May. Worked fine on an antenna until the June switchover--then the picture would freeze, made a loud screech and shut off. Got cable a few days ago and worked ok for a few days and then it started again though it flipped back on. Now it doesn't and can't get it back on. Talked with 2 reps over the past week who told me to hook a computer or a dvd player to it to check it out. And then what? If there is a problem, would it cause problems on those items too? Never got an explanation why I should do that. And today the rep refused to ref me to her supervisor. Also my mother is ill and been in the hosp a few time since 6-12 so haven't had a lot of time to spend on this. Frustrating huh? Any ideas about why I need to test it on the computer or a dvd player?
Well, your TV is no doubt under warranty. The only reason I can thing of why they want you to use a DVD player is to find out if the Digital Tuner inside the TV is the source of the problem.
They need to replace the Digital tuner board or the main mother board. Either way, they have to come out to your house to replace a part.
Just keep hammering them of the warranty coverage.
