After being on for awhile it shuts off then turns back on .the longer its on the more often it does it there is a picture when it comes back on .there is no noises except for the usual turning on noise.if you have a fix need. to know where to find the problem not just an answer like its the capacitor volt 136 .i have know clue what it looks like.thanks.
Hello james,
The problem happens to be a capacitor. your TV uses the ITC222 Thomson chassis and it has a flaw in which CP150, CP140, and CP120 dries out and then explodes or becomes bloated and causes the problem you are reporting. Here is a URL to get the schematic daiagram:
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/3692/Thomson_ITC222.html
Once you have the schematic, the actual component is on the Deflection board (the one on your right hand side facing the back of the set. The component is behind a heat sink with a transistor on it. Now make sure you find all three capacitors (the two other are on the same deflection board).
I hope this helps,
Thank you,
