problem is failed air dampeners on the ends of the tub support rods
set of 4 rod assemblies from a service agent spares cost around $90.00 and will take you around 1 hour to replace or a technician about 15 minutes
you need a 10mm socket and some extensions and a ratchet take the fabric softer filter out and undo the ,bolt at the bottom of the agitator and lift out
Make sure the agitator is down as far as it can go on the shaft. If it has worked itself partially off the shaft it can cause a gap that will cause your clothes to tangle around the agitator.
Yes its a top loader and cloths are distributed evenly at the moment. My problem is it will not agitate. Its like the brake is locked on. It spins fine but niether the drum or agitator move. the motor is trying but its cant over come the brake (i think). I have had the brake arm off but I am unsure if it needs alinging with the brake tang when putting it back together ?
Hi just read your posting. Now does the washing tangle around the agitator? In your posting you mentioned the washing not distributing around the drum.Could you confirm that your machine is a top loader for me,because the word "drum and distribute" are terms for a front loader. If your machine is a top loader which I think it is then the problem could be your brake arm or spin coil is not operating. Please reply and let me know if the clothes are tangling around the agitator.Looking forward to your reply.
If you can use a lollipop stick to operate the lid switch while you leave the lid open, you will be able to observe if the agitator is going smoothly back and forth EVENLY or not. If it is tending to turn just one way....this will tangle the clothing like mad! If this is the problem it could be the switching module or capacitor that needs replacing.
