Put a clamp ammeter at one of the electrical supply wire and take note of the running current reading (amperes) with the motorpump running. Compare this with the rated current of the motor. It must be lower or equal to the rated current. From your comment that it is very hot to touch, I assume that the running current reading is higher than the rated current. To lower the running current, install a service **** or flow control valve at the discharge line. Then, put back the clamp ammeter at one of the electrical supply line/wire. Start the pumpmotor and slowly close the service ****/flow control valve until your running current reading is 85% to 90% of the rated current (amperes). I can assure you that the motor temperature will be lower.

How do i drain a jewel plus spa,

Most of this manufatcturers spas have a 3/4" drain valve tucked in between the control pak and the pump. If your does not have this, a sump pump connected to a hose is the best , fastest way to drain a spa. My favorite king is "little giant" which is sold at any lowes or home depot if your in america. If not, any local hardware store should stock these. Cost in USA is about $35

This is the second time I have replaced the pump with no good results. This pump drains a pedicure chair. Some times it will drain sometimes not.Motor runs, with water going to inlet, but no flow out.really...

The #4E must be run submerged. The #3E may be used submerged or in-line. IMPORTANT: When

used in-line, the #3E must be installed so that the pump head (volute) is flooded before starting. That is,
the inlet of the pump must be below the level of the surface of the liquid being pumped.

Little Giant pump 3MD-SC set screw on motor shaft in loose. When tightened the rotating part of the pump drags on the motor housing. Am I missing a spacer?

The set screw is to hold the rotating part in place while
running. The rotating part is the impeller. It means that
the impeller has a worn out shaft hole. This needs a
spacer enough to be tightened without touching the
pump housing. We call it shims. This is a brass strips to wrap around the shaft. Otherwise, it must be replaced.
