ERROR 0410, COMMUNICATION ERROR, DF/COPIER. DF WILL LIKELY RUN FINE BY ITSELF IN SERVICE MODE BUT NOT TALKING TO COPIER. INTERMITTENT STRANGE PROBLEM. THERE ARE SOME SPECIFIC RELATED SYMPTOMS SOMETIMES.
WHAT DOESN'T WORK, TRIED COPIER ENGINE BOARD, DF MAIN BOARD, HARNESS, KYOCERA GROUNDING KIT + TECH SUPPORT. ALL BAFFLED.
WHAT DID WORK, FINALLY. I'VE FIXED 3 SO FAR. COMMUNICATION TIMING IS BASED ON PAPER SENSORS & MOTOR PULSES IN DF. PROBLEM LOST PULSES. EITHER ELECTRICAL NOISE FROM MOTORS OR BAD ENCODER(S) (IN MOTORS) OR BAD ONE WAY CLUTCH(ES) (IN GEARS) OR BAD SENSOR(S). I REPLACED ALL. 2 OF EACH ARE NEEDED.
I AM A KYOCERA CERTIFIED COPIER/PRINTER TECH WITH 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE. I'VE NOTIFIED A REGIONAL MANAGER AT KYOCERA OF THIS GROWING ISSUE AND THE SOLUTION.

Is one side lighter then the other side of the copy? Meaning uneven copy darkness? If so, I believe the problem is that one or both sides of the drum cartridge and the developer are not connected correctly. The two parts need to be close togather to make a nice dark copy. This model has a very wierd drum unit and has a defect that one or both side of the drum unit locking tabs break and you get very light or blank copies. It's some what coastly to replace the whole unit... That would be a worse case.... If it is just on one side you might be able to push on the cover on the side that is light. If the copies come out better. One side is broken..I would fold up some paper and make a wedge to push the catridges closer. Good Luck

The Driver is available online for windwos 7, go online to www.copystar.com , choose download and then the machine model number and then the printdrivers. Choose the Kx driver for windows 7.

This will fix your problem.
