I'd recommend doing a thorough search with a flash light. You also might need to do some minor dis assembly to find pieces of paper. Another suggestion is to clean the paper path sensors with canned air. Lastly check all pick up rollers and make sure they are textured and have no smooth or bald spots. #1 cause of jams is bad rollers.

51.xy error in color laserjet usually point to the laser scanner. I cannot confirm this for the cp3505 at this time but HP codes are fairly consistent.
In your case the scanners all come in one unit pretty expensive. RM1-6338-000CN
You can try checking cables to the assm. if you want to get that involved and swapping toner. Bad toner can cause strange problems.
