Question about AT&T 1185 Phone

Excessive vibration type noise on the line

While talking on the phone, it sounds like the phone is trying to do something and makes a strange noise like a tongue roll sound. Doesn't do it every time but quite often.

Loud vibration noise that lasts 5 - 10 minutes. stops when door is opened at that point sound of something rotating slowing to stop. Re and re filter, ran water, turned off ice maker, but no change.

Strange that it slows to stop after the door is opened. I have a new LG French door and the ice maker makes a rotating sound then dumps the ice and the water runs. I do know what it cost to have the repair man come. There is another web site called ask dot com where you can ask a pro, it will cost, but probably not much more than 25-30 bucks. Vibration means that something is loose, just like in a car. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Strange vibration noise upon acceleration sounds like something is rubbing

Joyce, does this only happen when you accelerate or does it vibrate at all when idling? Vibration of your engine could be caused bt weak or broken motor mounts. Also, does it only happen at certain RPMs? If so, it could be your timing belt.

My phone will not vibrate at all anymore

Hi
Make sure your ringer is not in vibrate mode. Try These this thing first
Press Menu > Settings/Tools > Settings > Sounds > Ringer Type > Voice Calls.
Select Caller IDor No Caller ID. (A list of ring type categories will be displayed.)
Select a category, and then use your navigation key to scroll through the available ringers. A sample ringer will sound as you highlight each option.
Press OK to assign a ringer. Make sure your speaker works. Turn On your speaker phone while talking to someone and see whether you can hear or not. Make sure the increase the volume using keys on side of your phone.
If none of these works the ******** motor needs to be cheked for loose connections inside the phone.
Thanks for using Fixya

Our line one cuts out even when we're talking on it & we can just barely hear the person on the line but they can hear us clearly. We have unplugged the phone's power cord & plugged it back in...

I have the same sort of problem...kinda..lol. My Vtech sorta 'cuts out' when there is noise at my hosue. The person I'm talking to can still hear me but I can't hear them. If my son starts crying or there's any other loudish type noises on my end, it's like the phone is trying to cutout my background noise, but all it's cutting out is the person talking to me. It's not that the noises in my house are loud and I jsut can't hear the person I"m talking to, b/c if i cover the mouth peice then no matter how loud the sound in my house is i can still hear the person i'm talking to but I HAVE to keep the mouth peice covered. It's really annoying!

Loud fan belt type noise from laptop

There are no belts in a computer, sounds like something is rubbing in your computer cooling fan blades, get a can of Duster ( to clean dust from things) and spray the compressed air into all the vent holes to clean out any dust and debris.

Buzzing noise while making a call

This happens at many phones due to the speaker which buzzes because of the waves made by the conversation. For example try calling someone and be near a desktop pc speaker or radio and you'll hear the same buzzing noise
