Actually noticed that a fuse (15 amp) was blown. Replaced the fuse and it will now kick on however, it pops the breaker every 5-10 minutes. Noticed the breaker it pops is a 20 amp and the fuse is 15 amp, is that appropriate?

Should also mention that it is 100+ degrees where I am at.

This symptom is in control panel circuit. The common causes circuit problem is cold solder or loose connection that why the machine funtion abnormally and it cause the machine to overheat and shutdown automatically and not turning on. The switch and control chip are the usual suspects because the switch experiences lots of electrical and thermal stress and the control chip is a complex IC. Also possible is a defect in the circuit board such as a cold solder joint. A cold solder joint is where a lead of a component is not soldered at a high enough temperature and results in a bad electrical connection which can respond to physical shock and thermal stress.Due to time, heat, use, some solder joints would be cracked or loose. It is possible that the cold solder is still minimally connected . When the aircon unit turns on heat would be generated which would be sufficient to further loosen up the solder joint to the point it no longer provides electrical contact. A solder joint may also be broken or cracked . Look on the front and back of the board along the defective circuit to see any components that look like they are not soldered effectively or the solder connection is cracked or broken. A cold solder joint looks dull and/or bulging unlike the smooth and shiny normal solder joints. Its better you resolder all components parts joints of control panel circuit board.Thats is the best solution for this kind of problem . Good luck; Regards: VOTIT

Every 5-10 minutes the fuse is pop up. There are something wrong in power supply board maybe there’s a shorted components parts. You must check the capacitor, diode and the regulator for short. Also check the components parts for loose connection this will cause the abnormal distribution of voltages to every components parts causing the fuse will blown because the circuit is in protect mode. You must resolder all components parts in power supply board so it be tighten and then distribute proper voltages, to avoid any further blown fuse.

Duo therm ac in my rv quit when the converter burned up does the ac need 12v to work?

there is a fuse located under the shroud on the roof AC on a circuit board that controls the thermostat to turn on the power to the Air Conditioner replace it it is marked F-1 or, on some F-2 etc.
the air conditioner works on both DC voltage for the thermostat and AC voltage for the compressor

My duo therm roof top camper air conditioner just shut off and will not come back on. Can hear a click when turning on now but nothing else. Note that heater will not come one either.

The click that you are hearing is the relay control board in the rooftop unit. This means that you are getting 12V to the board. It sounds like you are not getting 120V to the AC unit. Check the breakers in the breaker panel to make sure they are OK. If they are fine, then turn off the AC for 5 to 10 minutes and try again. There is a thermal protection device in the unit that prevents you from turning it right back on after a shut down. Try putting the thermostat to fan only operation. If the fan does not come on in fan only mode, then you have thrown a breaker.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Google dometic rooftop air conditioning parts!Wouldnt suggest using off brand parts maybe diffrent?if that one is set up for 12v also maybe deffinatley diffrent!!!Try cleaning condensor aluminum fins on roof top if condensor is dirty will throw whole system out of whack!!!use oven cleaner and hose with nozzle be careful not to bend fins throughly rinse off cleaner after soak period spray off completly off roof and sides quickly!!!!!may damage decals etc!!! anyhow try that before replacing parts then use factory or alike parts!!!Good Luck!!!

Will not shut off

Sounds like a stuck relay on the unit itself. Maybe there is a short in the control wire that comes from the thermostat that activates the fan.

The thermostat probably has one hot wire at all times. The thermostat then chooses which wire to send the voltage down based on your selection. One of those wires is probably for the fan only. Make sure that it is in good condition (no bare, pinched or wires)

Duo therm roof top a/c

Sounds like 1 of 3. Blower motor capacitor, relay or thermostat. Try to run fan only if that is an option and see.
