Question about Bose Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Wireless remote says 'no signal from media center'. The remote is for our outdoor deck speakers. We've checked the house and room codes and the batteries. Any ideas? Thanks.

SOURCE: hook up brookstone wireless outdoor speaker

You cannot add other brand speakers to Bose systems. You must purchase the Bose second zone speaker amp and speakers.

We have a Misubishi mini split ducted heat pump. The thermostat is saying no signal What to do?

Try cycling the power supply to the outdoor unit. The indoor unit is powered off of the outdoor unit and the wireless signal to the room sensor originates in the indoor unit. Something may have disrupted the output signal to the room sensor and a quick reset MAY do the trick.

How to check MSG12HRN1W MINI SPLIT SYSTEM electronic board

If your mini split was installed to meet most building codes, an inside disconnect switch should have been installed. This switch breaks the power and signal from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit. It is not the same as the outside disconnect to the compressor (outdoor unit). If it was turned off, the inside unit would be dead. Look for a disconnect switch inside your room. By code is should be within 15 feet of the inside unit.

Bose lifestyle one room doesn't connect and the remote says it won't connect to media center

Look in the instruction manual and make sure that you have set the codes correctly, the house code for the remote, as well as the room code for the second room. Also check the batteries in the remote control, especially when the room as far away from the main room, the batteries need to be full in order to reach the center. I assume we talk about a wired system? When this is a wireless connection to the second room, it may need a reset, unplug and re-plug the wireless adapter, there should be a pilot light in the back of the wireless adapter, which should be green. If that does not help, call Bose.

We have 3indoor/outdoor speakers for deck-they are static

I would suggest moving them close to the base unit (if you havent already) to see if that improves the sound quality. If so, then you know you have some kind of interference in the area. Also, what output are you using from the BOSE? If you are using a headphone output or other variable output, you may be overloading the input circuit of the wireless base unit. Try turning down the volume on the BOSE or connecting to a different output.

Adcom GFA-5002 is dead no lights, no anything

Check the Fuse. Unplug the AC first. If you replace the fuse and it blows again, disconnect all speakers, replace the fuse and turn on. If the fuse does not blow, chances are it is a speaker problem, Adcom builds some very solid product, I would suggest pulling the outdoor speakers and testing them.
Depending on what you are using, some outdoor speakers should never be taken out of the living room. If you still have an issue post a comment and I will help some more.

Need a stronger signal for the wireles in our house

Your better off getting a repeater for your wireless and strategically place it in a room where it can amplify to the next and so on. Concrete is virtually impossible to pass through with the signals wireless transmit so a repeater strategically placed is the best way in my opinion.

Bose link AL8 connection problems

I had a similar problem, though intermittent, using my 48 with the AL8 and room-mate speakers. I kept getting a "no signal received from media centre" message on the remote in the second room.

Assuming that the batteries are ok and you don't have a hardware problem, the problem might be that the 48 is not picking up the signal from your remote control in your second room. The signal from your remote control is a radio signal that goes directly to the 48 - it doesn't communicate via the AL8 receiver. I think the orange light will only turn green once a signal is being transmitted from the transmitter unit plugged into your 48 media centre, and this won't start transmitting until the media centre gets a signal from the remote telling it to switch on.

The aerial for all the remote controls is contained in the power cable that links the 48 lifestyle unit to your VS-2 unit. Make sure that this is uncoiled and oriented vertically, as far away from other cables as possible.

If this doesn't work, you can get an antenna extender that plugs into the RC socket on the back of the lifestyle system. Again, orient this vertically. You can get these from Bose.

Is there anything in the wall that might be blocking the radio signal? Lots of metalwork for example?

If orienting the power cable from the VS-2 doesn't do the trick, I suggest that you go to a local Bose shop. (An actual Bose shop, not just an electrical or hifi store stocking Bose products). I explained my problem and the tech guy gave me an extender gratis (its basically just an FM aerial wire by the look of it). I installed it this morning and, so far, its seems to be working ok. As my unit is fairly new, he also offered to have the kit back in the shop to check it all out and, if that didn't work gave me Bose technical support number. He even offered, if all else failed, to send a guy out to my home to get it working - and I didn't even buy it from there!

Hope this helps.

Have you tried using the remote antenna supplied with the Bose system? This connects to the "Remote antenna" socket on the rear of the media centre and is made up of 2 parts: a shielded section (black in colour) that runs past any sources of interference - mains or signal cables, other electronics products - and the unshielded antenna (clear plastic covered copper wire) that must be fully extended vertically to act as an aerial. Position this away from sources of interference and as close to the second room as possible (Bose do a longer version, free of charge in some countries....)
The remotes only have a range of up to 20metres - this will drop the more walls it passes through and the thicker the walls. Any interference can affect this - radio transmitting equipment (WiFi, video sender, but especially products transmitting on the same frequency - 27MHz or 40MHz, e.g wirless thermostats or alarm systems....) or products with poorly shielded transformers. Experiment with swtiching off other electical equipment (including lights if they have a transformer - e.g. halogen spot lamps). If you identify a source, can you move it away.....?
