Question about Canon DR-2580C Path-Through Scanner
Just purchased online. Canon Tech and support sent me 2nd unit, just in case 1st unit was bad. Same problem. Their software on this unit is Capture Perfect 3.0. Went through with various settings four times with two techs from Canon, still no resolution. Problem is the document scans and I see it in the Capture Perfect preview (only scanning 8/12 x 11) black and white business doucments. Nothing else. When I see the preview I can faintly tell that there appears to be a broken black frame about 1/4" of an inch around about three quarters of the doucument. When I print it directly to any of my office printers (HP laser jet 2300 or 4250), the document comes out just beautiful, i.e, no black frame lines anywhere around or near the border of the pages. But once the document is saved in a folder call, Shared Scanned Documents" and I then retriew this doucment and print, the black framed lines appear and they also appear when I send this document via email attachment. Capture Perfect 3.0 software also has the abiltiy for me to check "Deskew" for crooked document feeds; and to eliminate border and punch holes. Canon and I tried activating these features to see if it took care of the problem and it did not. I called Adobe and they sent me back to Cannon. I also tried to print the document from Adobe Acrobate vs. 8.1 and it came out even worse. We also went to a second computer and tried both the first and second canon unit. We tried new cables, negative. The lines even appear with a perfectly piece of white paper. Adobe also had me try to save the doc as a tif file rather than a pdf, but that did not correct the problem. I paid $650.00 for this dedicated scanner and it appeared to be a good mechanical unit, but perhaps it is the software or how I am handling the document once it leaves the Capture Perfect 3.0 arena and is stored?
It seems that your scanner is conflicting with previously installed software. It is impossible to say whether it is Canon or Adobe. Reinstalling Acrobat or updating it may work as trying a different folder like Desktop instead of My Documents. One or more drivers are at fault. What system are you running? 2000, XP, Linux? Update your video rendering software too. Let me know so that I can help solve this issue. Just try as mentioned first.
