Installed skype for my father and it was working well on his compter for a week, then about a week ago the microphone stopped. He can hear me, he's swapped the headphones to ensure its not a prob there.
Sort of think that a patch from MS has corrupted the mic driver, or maybe some virus over skype... seems stange.
Anyway, will be deinstalling skype and reinstalling and checking that nothing else is wrong.
Another woman I know has had exactly the same problem.
Looks like MS or someone is trying to deal to Skype and close it down

Ummm, I think that model's hardware and software isn't compatible with Skype anymore also if you did have Skype installed on your phone before and it worked I'de say Skype no longer supports that version of Skype.
I had problems with Skype in fact not many Smartphones worked well or consistently with Skype App. LG KC910 Renoir
If your contacts can see you clearly, the problem is not your camera. If one of your contacts has a double image, the problem is at their end. If all your contacts have a double image, the problem is probably with your Skype installation or video.
Make sure the WEBcam driver is installed. When the WEBcam works then the fault is with the Skype configuration. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the installed WEBcam - Save the settings.

Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to
broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/)
set it up as follows:
Go to Tools,
then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone
and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
click on the Video Settings.
camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly.Your friends and Family will now be able to
see and her to you. Hope this helps.Bud
I have skype also, Sometimes virus gets in your computer, Try to run a virus scan first, Also try Adware its free from Lavasoft.com to clear out any adware slowing computer down, If that does not work go to run and remove programs and delete Skype and go to skype.com and redownload the Skype application. It will not mess your account up. Good Luck
I tried it again with the camera plugged in (duh) -- and the driver reappeared, the microphone works fine -- I successfully completed a Skype test call. I don't understand why it works that way, but now I know.
