Does not read games

Follow these steps when you are facing "disc wont read" problem

Step 1:Remove the disc from the system.

Step 2:Use a cloth to clean in small circles around the disc (not in a big circle going around the disc). Use DVD or CD disc cleaner if available. If you use cleaner, use a different dry cloth to clean the disc no more than three minutes after application.

Step 3:Verify that there are no disc-destroying marks on the disc. Deep scratches and chips in the middle of the disc can render a disc inoperable. As your Playstation 3 is used more and more, the lens that reads Blue-ray discs can become dirty. This will lead to discs skipping or not being read by the console. If you find this is happening on your Blue-ray discs, either movies or games, you may need to have your console cleaned. Be careful when attempting any sort of cleaning of your console, as improper handling will further damage the Playstation 3. Contact a member of Playstation Support for information on console maintenance.

Thank you !!

I have had my ps2 for 3 years now. The power turns on but it seems that the console is not reading the games. what should I do?

Moving parts causes vibration, thus the lens of the PS2 was misaligned due to this vibrations reason for it not to read games discs. Try to visit your local tech to have it fixed or call Sony for repairs. If you want to risk it, you can also try to open the console and realign the lens gently.

I need the driver for playstation 2 it does not read the disk

You should clean the disc and the disc reader and try to get the dust out of the airy thing coming out of the PS2. Hope that helps.

Playstation 3 wont read disc can someone help it doesnt read disc at all we have cleaned the disc and nothing is working, someone said the bd drive could be bad if so how do we fix as this is out of...

This could be caused by 2 things

1) The laser is dirty, and needs to be cleaned or
2) more than likely the laser has failed and needs to be replaced

Other than that check the spindle motor by putting a cd in the slot and feel the shell for small vibrations,if you can feel it the spindle motor is fine

If this helps, please give me positive feedback

Play station 2

If you have your playstation 2 standing upright it may be this tht ios causing the problem as the disc will not be correctly line up with the laser that reads the disc this could also cause scratchs on the discs, its best to have the playstation 2 in the downright postition.

Disc read error on playstation 2

My children's playstation did the same thing. I'm not sure if you have the slimline model or not however, I went into the Sony Playstation website under their troubleshooting section:

Take Disc Out
Restart System
In the Menu Press Triangle for the Version Info Screen
Highlight Console option and press triangle
Press x and highlight on press x again
Press o 2 times to go back into the main menu
Insert Disc
Highlight Browser
Press X to Read Disc

This did work for me but I did have to do it twice.

I hope this helps you
