WHY DOES MY T.V. TURN ON BUT THERE IS NO SOUND OR PICTURE

you probably have voltage problems , you might want to check the source, the componenes , such as capacitors and ic

if no picture no sound how can it turn off--you mean a light is still on? Let me also know age of set and if any odd things before it failed like had to turn on several times etc.

Tv has no picture or sound; will go out while watching. The picture will go into a line and sound and picture will go out; shortly after that tv will turn off. Did this last nite and I did not turn back on until this morning, it worked no problem. On for couple of hours and now it's out again. What could be problem and how do I fix myself

I have a sansui 19" LCD TV+DVD
I had to attempt multiple times turning the TV on to get a picture. The sound was fine. This kept happening when I would go to turn on the set the TV kept playing fine with picture & sound but after the 2nd attemts I turned it off & then tried to turn it back on which took multiple attempts, it kept playing for a few minutes then the picture went out but the sound was still there.
The set is not yet 2 years old.

I have this camera and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to turn that sound off. It's odd because I have an IS-DV2+ also and if I turn the volume all the way down, that sound is muted as welll. I don't know what goes on at Aiptek...
