Question about Samsung SyncMaster 204B 20.1" LCD Monitor
When I turn it on in the morning it flickers and is dim for about 5 min and then fine for the rest of the day...
This type of issue is usually trace to the power supply board. When the capacitors start to fail you get the flickering and dim picture until they can get fully charged up and then its ok until you turn the unit off and they discharge, then it starts all over again. Here is a link to a repair guide with disassembly instructions and what to look for and replace to get the unit back running again.
I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

This sounds like a power supply problem, how old is the monitor? If it is not new in the last year and is used regularly it sonds like a faulty capacitor in the power supply. If you are aware of the precautions necessary when handling capacitors and a moderatly competent solderer then you can replace then yourself - a complete set of capacitors usually costs around £3 or $5
