Bang (like explosion)

When our ''Cascade 2'' on our caravan has been on for about ½ hour, it sometimes produces a bang like a gas explosion. Any clues, please?

You have a gas leak in the housing the heater is in, or the balanced flue system is leaking, i.e. flue gasses are mixing with the combustion air.

My furnace is really hot you hardly can touch it and makes a banging noise when it turns on and off

Get it serviced. The banging might be water boiling, and that can explode with over pressure. There is a relief valve, but they stick. Or it could be a build up of gas and what you are hearing is a mini gas explosion. The overheating might be a flue obstruction. Too much going on, sounds dangerous, get it fixed professionally. You can't muck around with gas appliances.

What causes a loud bang from oven?

If you hear a loud bang the SECOND time you try to light an oven, it means you've just had a small explosion when the gas from the FIRST try ignited outside the heating tube. I would have a professional check your oven before using it again.

Does the water heater produce radiant heat to the exterior of the unit

1) No.
NO.
Do NOT store combustibles close to a water heater, fireplace, or any source of ignition, including HVAC, space heater, microwave, appliance, etc.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html#bang

2) Tankless water heaters do not have FVIR safety features found in tank-type gas water heaters rated less than 60,000 BTU.

3) Tankless water heaters draw large amounts of air into combustion chamber from surrounding room, and this air feeds directly into the burner flame with no barrier.

4) If flammable vapors enter tankless, then it can cause fire, explosion, conflagration.

5) Read product manual and safe a life.

Carver cascade 2 No water at all comes out of the hot water outlet. The inlet non return valve has been changed & is working correctly.

Check the tank drain valve for water there. If you get a good water flow there you know the tank is getting water pressure.Check the first outlet downline from WH and if there is no water there you have a blockage or other problem. If you have to turn off water to tank, remove the outlet pipe ,and check for water flow from tank with in valve on.If no flow, tank is plugged up.
Hope this gets you going.

Hi my vulcan gas wall heater goes 'bang' after a few minutes of operation. It sounds like a gas explosion but I can't detect any leak.

it sounds like delayed ignition, this is VERY dangerous, you need to verify sequence of operation and fuel air mixture.

is it when you are baking? A bad bake igniter will cause a noise like that.

Explosive Ignition

Check the alignment of the igniter to burner. It should be in the flame of the burner but to one side or just below. Does the igniter glow about 15 seconds prior to the gas valve opening or just a second or two. The igniter should glow 10-15 seconds prior. If the temperatures outside are unseasonably cold, you could be experiencing a gas regulator condition. If so, as the temperature rises, the condition would lessen. Call your gas company to get the regulator tested and gas pressure checked.
