Do you have the sharpdesktop installed on your computer? if not that is why you can not scan
you on a network or hooked in to the computer
go to sharpusa.com and download the newest driver i had that same copier and i loved to do death it was the best if you are still having probems call the les olson company in your area and they can help the are the sharp guros (they can even take over your computer and reload soft ware and fix problems while you sit there and watch
