Question about Honda Maxus Pressure Washer MX5222

1 Answer

Honda XR2750 only runs on full choke

If I tried to take off choke, engine immediately dies. The pressure washer has sat for at least 6 month. After running for about 10 minutes, it now won't stay running, even on full choke.

Is it possible to spray a carb cleaner into the choke area, short of a carb rebuild? I'm reasonably mechanical, but have never taken a carb apart. Thanks. Lynn

Thank you. As you suggest, I'll take my time and take a few pictures.

i would start by just removing the bowl and clean it, if there is a green or brown deposite in there the whole carb may need cleaning

they are fairly simple. just have a table to do the disassemble on and take you time

just remember how it came apart(if it helps take pictures) and don't spray cleaner on any part that isn't metal

i'm afraid carb cleaner in the choke won't solve your problem

    good luck

Perhaps you haven't adjusted the carburetor correctly. The fuel supply orifice could be still plugged . Recheck the carb.

My Honda XR2750 pressure washer doesn't seem to be spraying a full capacity. Is there a blockage and /or filter I can clean?

Usual cause is the water admitance valve that regulates the pressure by admitting more or less water.

Remove the valve parts and clean the bore with crocus cloth on a dowel rod. Replace the O rings and lube with plumber's grease.

Re-assemble.

Won't start, can't remember starting procedures and dont have manual

Make sure the fuel valve is on. Generally that means pointing down inless there is a diagram on it.

Turn the switch on.

Pull the choke on the carbuerator on full. There will be a picture of a butterfly valve set it so that it is closed. Pull the cord till the engine fires. let it sputter for a second, then open the choke. If the engine dies right away, do all of the above again but once it fires, only open the choke half way. once it warms up a bit open the choke completely.

% hp Honda Motor runs on choke

Dear LC39B,
Is it possible you are blaming the wrong part of the machine? Did you try the Honda Motor on its own? I am asking , because if the pump of the washer has some fault or a bit jammed, this will demand a lot of power from the Honda. You can try the Honda with no water connection and no gun.
Regarding the Honda motor, you should check the electrical system also. I am saying this because you did not mention it, in your service procedure.
Regards,
MG.

Choke needs to be on all the time

your problem is in the carb. for some reason there is a stoppage or clogg in the venture opening that feeds the main passage to the manifold. that is the little pipe connecting the carb to the engine.the choke being on causes the engine vaccum to **** gas from other resourses in the carb to run. also check to see if throttle butter fly is moving freely.there may be a defect with the carb and they will have to replace. running the engine with choke on causes it to run rich and will foul the plug eventually . also not good on gas . will use way more than it should. also co2 level way up.
