If you can get some cleaning fluid, used in rein shops, you can try to clean the heads.
Take out one cartridge and in the little pipe on the bottom where the cartridge was, drip in a few drops of cleaning fluid. Do this for all collars who have stripes. Then replace the cartridges and pep the printer print a few pages (normal paper) in full colour. Repeat this till the prints are ok. If 4 pictures A4 won't solve the problem, toy must have real dirt under the print head.

SOURCE: Epson 6000 prints light colored line every 3/4 inch.

Clean the heads with some InkJet Head Cleaner. Get a syringe like the ones you get in the refill kits, and remove the cartridges. Using the syringe, gently squirt cleaning fluid into the cartridge nozzles in the printer. Note: Not into the cartridges themselves. Leave to soak for a while, and then using a cotton bud, remove any excess fluid. Run a few cleaning cycles and you should find the heads come back to life.

SOURCE: Black ink nozzle clogged

If you have tried 5 or 6 head cleans, left for about 10 hours and then tried 3 or 4 more without noticeable result then you probably need a head cleaning solution. Google for stockist near your area or try this one:

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

SOURCE: Hi my epson r285 with ciss is leaving ink blotches

It might be caused by waste ink at bottom plate around head sprayer. For some CISS (bottle) design, ink will flow to head, and then flow to pad, when printer off. So, you must close respiratory hole at bottle when printer is not used. For cleaning, turn off printer (unplug power) when head is not in parking position. Move head to center. Put wet tissue (with cleaner or hot water) at top of pad (at head cleaning mechanics). Move head to parking position. So bottom plate contact with tissue. Wait for 10 minutes, repeat 3 times. Check nozzle.

SOURCE: epson cx8400. I've put in new black ink cartridge,

For some cases the automatic head cleaning dosen't resolve blocked nozzle issues. For such you simply need to go manual; so please try the procedure below. If you are not at all a technical person get a brother, sister, husband, wife etc who is to help.

Ink may be new, but their nozzles may be blocked; depending on manner of storage. To be sure apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you still have a good amount of ink in it and the nozzle is not blocked. If not blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nozzle is blocked. To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a plate/saucer with a bit water so that the nozzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nozzles, the procedure may be repeated over to get results.

One ink head will not print

I would recommend doing some cleaning cycles from your printer or printer software. These can be found in maintenance under "Clean Print Head". These cycles force additional ink into the printhead and are useful in dislodging any blockages or dried ink.

Hope this helps.

Does not print, just a faint black print, the cartriges are half full.

your printer is a photo printer which consumes considerable amount of inks when printing... you may need to perform a head cleaning process to clear the clogg on your nozzle. this may consume your ink cartridges... i suggest that you convert your printer into a CISS (continous ink supply system) this is more cost effective instead of buying ink per ink as this shows the same output as the regular ones.

check out ebay for people who convert epson system to CISS
note: doing the head cleaning process always takes ink to force the clogg out of the nozzle tube

hope this helps

I have just changed the black ink carteidge on my Epson SX210 printer. The printed page now has some lines of clear text and other lines of missing or partial text. What is the problem and solution...

Click Start, go to Control Panel > Printers (Vista) / Devices and Printers (7) / Printers and Faxes (XP)
Right click on your printer, click Printing Preferences, click Maintenance, click Nozzle Check.
If the Nozzle Check pattern isn't complete, do a Head Cleaning and print the Nozzle Check pattern again.
You can do the Head Cleaning cycle 3 times, and make sure to print the Nozzle Check after each Head Cleaning cycle to see if there are any improvements.
You can also reinstall the inks by clicking Ink Cartridge Replacement and following the instructions.
If that does not work, please call your local service center or the store where you purchased the printer for warranty options.

Ink is not visible on paper

First NEVER raise the tanks of a CISS above the height of the printer otherwise all that is going to happen is that the ink will syphon out and end up getting everywhere.

As you have not used the printer in a long time there wil be dried ink in the print heads 3x head cleaning is nowhere near good enough to clear the blockages.

One thing I would do as you have a set of OEM carts is the following presuming you have the equipment.

Drill a small hole in the top of each cart and extract as much ink as ps=ossible with a syringe (you can put it in the ciss ink tanks) and replace with head cleaning solution. Reseal the ink carts (if clean selotape will do) insert carts and do 5x head clean, leave 24hrs and do 5x head clean again. This will allow the head cleaning solution to get right insine of the print head, soften the dried ink and then flush it through..

A lot of messing about I know but you've just shelled out a few bob for a CISS so it's worth it.

NB

Make sure you keep the CISS carts above the tanks whilst outside of the printer.

Epson PictureMate - can't clean all nozzles & Error P

Many times head cleaning will throw much ink away. 1 time about 10% of ink. After meny times head cleaning, ink will out, and need replacement. May be after head cleaning nozzle is ok, but after replacement, printer do ink charge. It may be distrub the flow of ink at head. Is the cartridge new?. Use CISS for continuity printing.

Printing problem with Epson CX9400

I have a CX9400Fax and occassionally print is mixed/missing lines. You must do a Cleaning cycle usually at least 4-6 times or until it prints a clear pattern. It will use LOTS of ink during the cleaning cycle. The printer normally uses a lot of ink, my solution was to purchase a CISS system along with a Waste Ink Container. IMO the best CISS is sold by the company below. I did have to call for tech support once and they returned my call in 30 minutes, problem solved and never came back. I purchase refill ink and it seems that I do a lot less cleaning cycles.

Epson CX3650 printing gaps

Remove ink cartridges one by one and put it back in. If same thing happens, try to do head cleaning and nozzle checks consecutively from the computer.

Start -> Control Panel -> Printers & Faxes (Windows XP) / Printers (Windows Vista) -> Printer Icon (right click) -> Printing Preferences -> Maintenance

You should be able to see nozzle check, click it and follow the prompt. Line patterns that corresponds to the colors of the ink cartridges would be printed. If breaks on the patterns appear, continue with head cleaning. Try to do this about 3 times until all patterns are complete.

Epson C64 printing oddity

Are you sure that there is enough ink in tank? If there is then the head got clogged. You can try one thing open the printer head and soak it in Hydrogen Paroxide(It is available in Medical store) for one night. Then do the maitenace through software(Nozle Cleaning etc.). It will work. But in epson printer 4 times rechagre will almost drain the tank. so be ready to have another set of Ink tank.
