If you can get some cleaning fluid, used in rein shops, you can try to clean the heads.
Take out one cartridge and in the little pipe on the bottom where the cartridge was, drip in a few drops of cleaning fluid. Do this for all collars who have stripes. Then replace the cartridges and pep the printer print a few pages (normal paper) in full colour. Repeat this till the prints are ok. If 4 pictures A4 won't solve the problem, toy must have real dirt under the print head.

Clean the heads with some InkJet Head Cleaner. Get a syringe like the ones you get in the refill kits, and remove the cartridges. Using the syringe, gently squirt cleaning fluid into the cartridge nozzles in the printer. Note: Not into the cartridges themselves. Leave to soak for a while, and then using a cotton bud, remove any excess fluid. Run a few cleaning cycles and you should find the heads come back to life.

If you have tried 5 or 6 head cleans, left for about 10 hours and then tried 3 or 4 more without noticeable result then you probably need a head cleaning solution. Google for stockist near your area or try this one:

SOURCE: Hi my epson r285 with ciss is leaving ink blotches
It might be caused by waste ink at bottom plate around head sprayer. For some CISS (bottle) design, ink will flow to head, and then flow to pad, when printer off. So, you must close respiratory hole at bottle when printer is not used. For cleaning, turn off printer (unplug power) when head is not in parking position. Move head to center. Put wet tissue (with cleaner or hot water) at top of pad (at head cleaning mechanics). Move head to parking position. So bottom plate contact with tissue. Wait for 10 minutes, repeat 3 times. Check nozzle.

there is a chip re-setter located just above the cartridges. it is actually a small button switch. if that does not work, try to remove the cartridges. just lift them (1 by 1) slightly then put it back again

For some cases the automatic head cleaning dosen't resolve blocked nozzle issues. For such you simply need to go manual; so please try the procedure below. If you are not at all a technical person get a brother, sister, husband, wife etc who is to help.
Ink may be new, but their nozzles may be blocked; depending
on manner of storage. To be sure apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle
and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you
still have a good amount of ink in it and the nozzle is not blocked. If not
blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nozzle is blocked.
To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a plate/saucer with a bit water so
that the nozzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue
again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new
you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nozzles, the
procedure may be repeated over to get results.
