Cannot get tv to scan digital stations. I have a digital rooftop antennae attached to tv and I have also attached the converter box. Television will scan regular channels and stop on channel w/digital info. Sometimes the screen shows that I have ''no signal''. I have also moved tv to a different location where another tv is working. Still nothing! Seems like TV doesn't have digital capability. How can that be on a tv that is fairly new?

Can't change channels stuck on 4 tried scanning it but it goes back to 4 won't change on the tv or a remote

When you run a scan the TV changes to every channel and tries to tune in a station. that is why it takes so long. If your TV is only finding channel 4, I would guess that is the only station strong enough for it to pick-up. You should check and / or replace your antenna and or antenna cable. Then re-scan the channels. with a better antenna, it should find more stations.
Most older Tube type TVs need a converter to pick-up digital TV, if you have a converter, make sure it is plugged in.

You should not be getting any stations without a digital tuner TV or a converter box.

The FCC site says this:

The FCC established September 1, 2015 as the date for the termination of all analog low-power television service. Since that date, analog television should no longer exist in the United States. Until that time, LPTV stations were allowed to continue to operate their analog facilities.

How do I scan a Craig LED TV for digital channels?

If it is fairly new it should be able to scan for Digital Stations. Connect it to an antenna that you know works on another TV and you can go to www.TVFOOL.com and it will tell you what stations are available at your address and what type of antenna is needed.

Yes it has a Digital Tuner/ HDTV Tuner. Go into the setup menu of the TV and do a digital channel scan. If you still have an issue, post a reply/comment and I will help you further.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Why won't my new Vizio DTV work on an antenna without the digital box?

Do you have the antenna aimed correctly and the correct antenna for the distance between your location and the stations? Check antennaweb.org and tvfool.com for the directions to the stations you should be able to receive. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the station list. TVfool gives the stations you should get with various different types of antennas. Tall trees and buildings will block signal strength so consider the environment around you.

With digital signals, if you do not have enough signal strength for a given tuner, the channel will not come in. An amplifier may help you get the signal, particularly if the signal is shared to several devices. Failure of an amplifier or lightning surge protection can stop the signal from reaching the TV. A surge through the antenna can damage the tuner.

A damaged cable can also be a source of a problem. Check the outside portion of the wire as well as the interior wires. Replace any that have damaged insulation or ends.

For this TV, if you have done a channel scan with the TV set to the Input TV/DTV, and the Signal Source set to Antenna. Turn the antenna and then set the Additional Scan to On. (Menu > TV > Channels > Additional Scan.) Then do another channel scan.

If you need a copy of the manual, see: http://www.vizio.com/m220va.html#support .

its very difficult to get digital stations if youre using an indoor standard antenna , unless you have a SPECIAL DIGITAL ANTENNA for indoors , but I suggest an outdoor antenna , the higher ,the better to locate digital stations , AJ

Usually rooftop antennas yield the best reception, but if it's old maybe it's rusted or the cables need replacing perhaps. With digital programming, it's either it comes in great or you don't get a pic at all unlike analog which will allow snowy images and bad reception to come in.

Digital signal conversion

If you have cable TV, satellite TV, or FIOS, the coupon eligible converter boxes aren't needed and aren't useful with those services.
They gov't coupon converter boxes are only good for reception with a regular TV antenna or rabbit ears.

According to the specs on epinions.com, no, this TV does not have a digital tuner. So, if you use a rooftop TV antenna (not satellite dish) or an indoor TV antenna, you WILL need an ATSC to NTSC converter box. You need not wait until next year, however, as most U.S. TV stations are also broadcasting digital (ATSC) now.
