Power on problem

When I turn the power on to my Samsung LN-T5271F after it has been off for awhile, say overnight, it clicks and seems to cycle on & off for a few minutes before it stays on. This TV is not quite 2 years old yet and I paid $3k for it. What a piece of ****. This is definitely the last Samsung product I will ever buy....

This sounds like a power supply on the verge of quitting or another circuit is drawing excessive current and the supply is detecting this as a fault and going into a 'protect' mode.
Unfortunately, you will need to have this problem researched by a technician.
BTW, it isn't just Samsung; three years is a 'long' time compared to many sets I see listed every day that have failed. I have been encouraging folks to keep their working CRT sets and procuring a digital to analog converter to keep with them as backups when their new sets fail.

These should be available from most electronics shops e.g. maplin, or on-line e.g. e-bay. Just search for 2200uF 25V capacitor.

If it just sits there and clicks then yes it is some caps on the SMPS or IP board depending on which one it has. You can replace the caps or replace PCB, thats up to you.

Call Samung customer service, they are doing this repair for free. I had the same problem at 11 months, they replaced the power supply board under warranty. At 2 years I had the exact same problem again and this time they replaced 2 - 50 cent capacitors on the power supply board. It took the repair man less than an hour and he had the replacement capacitors on hand. The original board and the replacement board they gave me had capacitors that were faulty. Hopefully these new capacitors will last. I have to say that I was thinking (no more samsung products for me) but I got excellent customer service and they admit that they had a faulty product and they accepted responsibility.

Samsung TV now takes over 30min to come on

There are a number of Capacitors on the IP/Power supply bd and they have gone bad. Replaced them with the proper Capacitance as the old ones are BUT get the 35 volt Caps. Going from 10v to 35v will fix this problem.

My Samsung TV power indicator light cycles on and off.

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
Your power supply is the problem, a repairman will charge between $250-$450
depending on if they repair or replace the power supply
Seems you know about this already, they are either 1000uf at 16volts radial caps or 2200uf
open the set and look for bulging caps
here is where you buy new ones
