First think you need to check if it happening with new DVD also... if yes then follow the following:
This issue occurs if the lens is not clean... please watch the video on below website:

Steps to followed:

  1. Remove the outer casing of the DVD player. Remove the screws that mount the top casing onto the bottom of the DVD player and slide the top casing off. This will expose the DVD deck, which houses the laser pickup lens.
  2. Find the lens. The lens will be glass and under the DVD clamp. The lens will probably have a blue tint to it. If you are having trouble finding the lens, you could shine a light on the components and watch for the reflection.
  3. Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the lens. Just a quick scrub will do. Dry the laser pickup lens with the other end of the swab.
  4. Give the lens a few seconds to dry and replace the covering of the DVD player. Test the efficiency of the player.

I have a JVC DVD Player (XV-N670B), (XV-N672S). I recently purchased a BluRay DVD and after inserting the DVD into the player, "Disc Error" appears. Would you tell me if my player can...

Sorry to say, no; this is a model limitation not a fault as such. XV-N670B is a DVD player, and the playable formats are:

DVD-Video, DVD-RW/-R, +RW/+R, CD, CD-R/RW, SVCD/VCD, WMA/MP3/JPEG, DivX. No Blu-ray support.

The JVC XV-BP11 and XV-BP1 do play Blu-Ray discs, as they are specifically Blu-Ray players (according to the JVC website).

I have heard of quite a few Blu-Ray players allowing DVD playback. The XV-BP1 supports the following playable media: BD-R/RE (Blu-Ray), DVD-Video/-R/-RW, R/ RW, CD, USB (again, this is from the same JVC website). You would need to purchase this or a similar Blu-Ray player to enjoy the benefits it has to offer (but it's up to you if you want one of those later on).

DVDs are still good, the 'disc error' message on your DVD player is normal due to the wrong media format inserted. The bonus here is it didn't cost you anything to ask, and you don't need a workshop quote on repairs.

This is the best free advice I can offer.

When inserting a c.d it first begin loading disc then it reads no playable files on disc next it ejects and reads remove music played at all..... What could be an intelligent soultion to solve...

If it's a homemade CD, it could be the disc is not finalized. Also some CD players don't like homemade discs especially ones made on a computer.

There is an error message on the TV screen that says "insert a playable disc", however we know that the dvd works fine in other dvd players.

Are you using a copy of a DVD? Not all DVD players recognize DVD's that are copies of the original.

Player shows '' No Disc'' even when inserted with a disk

When player says no disk, even if the disk inside, and you hear a whirring and clicking noise when you insert a disk, that means that the CD lens is dirty or defective, and the CD drive cannot read the initial CD track, and returns no disk.

Try first using a CD cleaner disk, if that does not work, then you will need to take the apart the unit to clean lens with isopropyil alcohol and cotton sticks.

My 14" dvd combi player wont read any disc i put in. The only thing that happens is that the main screen says reading disc then about 1 minute later is says please insert a playable disc. I have tried...

The optics can not read the disc. Try cleaning the lens inside using a cotton swab and alcohol. Also try playing a music CD. If the CD plays but a DVD continues to fail, the opticsl will need to be replaced. Depending upon the specific model, this could cost anywhere from $50-$120.
