I suspect that you have a bad selector switch for the on, off, low fan, high fan operation. If the selector switch is put into the off position everything should stop completely.

Would suggest it is drawing excessive current, make sure both fans are going, (inside will cycle low/high), or possible faulty reversing valve solenoid, or could be as simple as loose wire connection, how long does it run for and is it on the same 20amp breaker as the rear?if so start by running only the front unit in cooling 15/20min, check fans running, no unusual bearing noises, switch off for 60 sec then back on heat mode, if unit runs without stopping rewire onto separate circuit, if inside fan not working on heat check bi-metal switch in the airway, if running for a while, fans going but not very warm, check reversing valve.
Note, electrical's should be tested by someone who are qualified in the field.

You must have too many things running on that circuit. Check your connection to the power box.Loose connection on the receptacle can cause the breaker to trip or too many things running on the same circuit. If the breaker is old it might need to be replaced.

The problem is that when u add up the electrical draw from all of these appliances running full bore, your draw exceeds your available amperage. Now you are doing the math and saying no...... Let me tell you why. It is rare to find a situation where a 100 amp service actually porovides 100 amps. You almost always have voltage dropo. And when you are adding extension cords to the mix the drop is even more. That said, When you are using the AC try to minimize the use of other appliances, especially the microwave which is a big draw too.
