Are you turning the little screw in the piece that holds the bobbin? That is how you adjust the tension for the bobbin

The tension control has a screw on the inside wall of the sewing machine. It probably came loose and will not allow the tension to pull taught. If you take the top off you can look down to where the tension knob is coming from. There is a screw that you can tighten while you push forward on the tension knob while set to zero. Keep the presser foot up.

First, make sure the upper thread is threaded correctly. I don't have this model but see if this helps. If the bobbin thread is visible from the right side of fabric, the upper thread is too tight. If the upper thread is visible from the wrong side of the fabric, the tension is too loose. Turn the thread tension dial to the right to tighten and left to loosen upper thread. Good luck. What is solution of lose stitching from bobbin

Hi: Always remember that it is impossible for bobbin thread to loop as it simply spools off bobbin, the problem will always be with the top tension. Make sure you top tension dial is centered (half of the numbers on the dial). Re thread top of machine with presser foot UP, thread to needle, pull thread (should be loose), then lower presser foot and thread should tighten up, if it doesn't that means lint in between the tension discs, threaded wrong or tension to loose. If it tightens up then should sew properly if you haven't changes adjustments on machine. Have repaired over 20,000 machines over the years and 95% of the time the problem always starts with improper threading.

How to thread the bobbin on a brother vx-810

The sewing on the bottom is loose because you don't have enough tension on the TOP thread. First, make absolutely sure you are threading the machine correctly. Next, while using 2 different colours of thread, tighten the top tension dial one number at a time and then checking the stitching, continue tightening the top tension until the sewing is even on the top and bottom of your cloth.

I am trying to sew a boat canvas top with sunbrella canvas. my top stitch is beautiful but the bottom stitch is loose and messy. Is this just a tension adjustment and if so what should I be adjusting?

Try adjusting the top tension dial to tighten up the loose stitching on the underside. Generally if you have loose threads underneath, its the top tension and visa versa.

However, if you are using a thread heavier than normal sewing thread through the needle and bobbin (which you probably need for this canvas) then the machine may struggle. I've sewed vinyl seat covers and gave up with my domestic machine and purchased a second hand industrial Singer machine 20U to cope with this heavier weight textile. Generally for anything heavier than upholstery fabric a domestic machine may not be strong enough.

My bobin thread gets tangled and loose

have you checked the tension? In the older machines you could adjust the thread tension by tightening the screw on the side of the bobin case. With alot of the newer machines you have to lift out the bobbin and then lift out the casing to adjust the screw on the underside of the casing.

How do I tighten the tension on the bobin thread I am quitiing with invisible thread on the top and dark blue on the bottom, the bobin thread shows. I don't want that

you can either increase the bottom tension or reduce the top tension .. you will notice a little screw on the bobin case ... that screw adjusts the force on a small flat spring which provides the bottom tension (the thread goes under the spring when properly threaded) .. .. tighten that screw a little to increase bottom tension .. you can pull thread thru the bobin case to get a feel for how much tension you have ... you dont have to turn the screw very far to make a significant difference .. try just 1/4 of a turn at a time .. remember where it was originally set so you can put it back when you are finished with your present project .. the greater the bottom tension the less bobin thread will show at the top ... if you get the tension too high then you might see some puckering as you sew ..

BOTTOM STITCH IS ALWAYS LOOSE

If the top stitch is loose, then you need to tighten the bobbin tension: if the bottom stitch is loose, tighten the top tension. Hope this helps. It could also be the size needle and thread you are using for a particular fabric. Different fabrics require different notions.
