I have a Memorex MKS8506 karaoke system. It was working one day and the next day nothing happens when I push the "on" button. We did have some storms come through the night before this happened, but our power did not go out and no other electronics seemed affected by the storms. I took the back off and checked the connections. I looked at the wires from the power supply as well as the wires from the on button. Nothing seemed disconnected or broken in any way. Nothing appeared singed/burned or otherwise out of commission.
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size..

what do you mean "knocked" Yes sir it sure does sound like the power supply specificly the stand by supply? Only real way to tell if you know anything about troubleshooting solid state electronics is to get a schematic and start at the beginni9ng of the supply and work your way over to the sweep supplys. On alot of sets the horizontal has to be good for the ,main switching supply to start up but in this case if it dosent click or make any sound I supect the main supply. Good luck

This is usually a sign that a function has not completed or a switch has stuck in an incorrect position. eject can only happen if the sensor (either optical or mechanical senses that a tape is present. The swich might be stuck or the sensor might be blocked or bad. You can open up the unit and try to determine if the sensors are not being blocked by any of the mechanical parts of the unit. You will need the service docs to show you where the components are located. I hope this helps. Shuttle83
