I have the same problem. I love my camera and did not use it for about a month and then I whet to use it and when I power up it turns on the lens comes out and then it goes back in and turns off. It does not make any clicking noise it just goes back in. I can view the pictures on the card as long as I do not turn on the power button and just press the > arrow button. This is a EX-S600. Thanks for any help.

Your lens is jammed. The only way to fix that is to send it into casio.

I turn on my camara and then the lens makes a noise and it turns of right away,i charge the battery (fully) and it still turns off

maybe because you have a lens error trouble, Lens errors (system errors) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:wish you luck thanks

When i turn the camara on it makes a loud noise like its trying to open the shutter then it doesnt focus if i zoom in or out.

there might be something in the lens. even a grain of sand to do that. try flushing it out with an air sprayer or dust sprayer.

On my sony A200 camara .. I have a grinding noise when turning camara on and off from lens and sometimes when last bit of auto focus pictures are still good

it sounds like you have some sort of dirt or sand in the lens mechanism. this also could be a symptom if the camera was recently dropped.

if you can, try getting some condensed air and spray what you can in the cracks. if you aren't comfortable doing that, you can take it to a camera shop and have it cleaned.

the same thing happened to my camera and eventually, the lens wouldn't come retract, thus rendering the camera useless.

hope that helps.

My auto focus on my Canon EOS rebel t1i is making noise like it is trying to autofocus but the ring is not turning

Is this happening when you try to focus on something pretty close to the camera?
If that's the problem, it's because the lens has a focus distance 0.25m/0.8ft meaning the subject has to be this far away for the lens to be able to focus. You could buy a new lens with smaller focus distance if this is a big problem to you.

Camara not focusing/ zoom not working

Its an error code and shows problem of Lens mechanism.
Lens focus / zoom motor is stuck that's why camera gives out of focus image.
You need to replace Lens Assembly and it would cost you more then camera worth.

I need help with my FE-230's focusing

in any case where the lens makes a grinding noise, something is in the channel and causing the lens to not extend all the way... you will need to send to a repair shop

Zoom error

Just fixed the same problem on mine. This is what I did:
Unscrew 6 small screws around the lens casing and remove the casing (two layers ((rings)). Jiggle the inner most lens casing while you turn power on. The lens moving (i.e., auto focus) mechanism becomes unstuck. Voila.
The problem in my case was caused by the dust that accumulated inside the casing and caused the auto focus mechanism not to move freely.
Good luck.

Casio EXILIM camera lens will not extend fully!!!

It's the focus lens gears. The often times get knocked out of alignment by an impact, or debris gets in there. This can be fixed, but Casio won't help. my username. ;)
