Generac Watchdog 15K, engine will not start

Bought this unit used for one season. Was run on butane, I converted to propane as per the manual. Installed new fuel regulator. Won't start. During cranking, there is 12 volts on the fuel solenoid. Replaced solenoid, still won't start. Have fuel pressure, spark plugs are firing, but still no start. Any suggestions?

Throttle motor or governer board. or control board. your gas line could be to small. check the pressure while its cranking to see if it drops. watch the throttle to see if its moving while trying to crank the generator

Fuel Question , What Fuel is the cheapest and gives the Highest Mileage per Litre in Engines ?

Steam or electric are probably cheapest TO RUN... But most expensive to buy.... Butane would probably be next... It is actually a Mixture of Butane, Methane and a few others... In Australia it is the same as we use for the BBQ..... This would probably be next.... but unless the car is Factory converted,... then you will probably need some Petrol/Gasoline just to start .. You use maybe 2 or 3 Cupfuls each time so you don't use Much... It is also a Good backup if you run out of LPG....... The rest... it depends on th e Government and Fuel Companies which one is cheapest but what it SHOULD be id From cheapest up... Diesel, Unleaded, Premium Unleaded
Forget the rest... They would be cheap to run but the conversion would be so expensive it would be not worth the effort

My patio heater will light and run for about three to five minutes then shuts off, I can wait a few minutes and relight and it will do the same thing.

Hi, This can be caused by using butane during cold nights. Butane will start to freeze on cold nights but propane will work up to -6 . If already using propane then the most likely problem will be a worn thermocouple, these are consumable items. Found this site very useful, patio heaters problem solving.

How to convert a 61" residential rangefrom butane to natural gas?

Hello,
Ranges come set from the factory for natural gas. To convert it to propane, you should call your propane co and have a qualified serviceman do the work. You can void the warranty if you try to do it yourself and break something or don't convert it correctly. On an expensive range like this, you'll be better off having a professional do it right and keep that warranty intact. It could take 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete the job. You may need to purchase an LP conversion kit if some of the orifices have to be exchanged, like on a unit with sealed stovetop burners. Write down the make, model # and serial # for reference when you make an appt to have it done. Hope that helps.

I have worked on gas products for many years and have converted many from lp to natural gas and from natural gas to lp. What you want to do i would never try.
