My Linksys network adapter is very slow to connect

my Linksys wireless network adapter is very slow to initially connect to my home network and the internet through the 2wire 3800hgv gateway that was supplied to me by ATT. Can anything be done to improve this?

Ask them to review you connection speed to make sure your getting the speed you ordered. Linksys is usually pretty good. See if it's faster WITHOUT using the wireless (plug directly into the modem). If it is I can only think of two things... Ether you need to relocate your wireless modem to acheive a stronger signal OR if your signal is strong on your adapters end, you could always upgrade to a different wireless adapter that can handle faster conections.
