ACER ASPIRE 3680 WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY

Hello,

I have having problems with my acer 3680. When switching on the laptop, it brings a screen up which says WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY.

To fix the problem:

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and then click "NEXT".
3. Click "repair your computer".

I don't have the windows disc and it won't boot to get onto desktop so i can do a system restore.
Please help with any advice....and good advice please.
I've tried F8 AND F2 as someone suggested this on another forum.

Thanx x

Yes, i found the recovery disc, but there must be something wrong with the hard drive, as it has gone off again, will have to take it into a pc shop and have them look at it.

Thanks

when you start your computer on the scree top right or bottom left you will see which key you need to press to get to bios setting window, it could be F2 , Esc, delette, or even F1 just pay close attention and look for that option it will stay on the screen for second or two, from setting window you can change the the start option from c: or a: drive to your cd drive.

    ok,

now explore the option there you want to find the option somthing like first drive secondry drive or Master drive or slave drive .

  • shakeelkhan Nov 06, 2007

look for boot sequence in which or order your computer starts first c drive then so on so forth we need to change it to d or e drive depending on which letter assign to your cd/dvd/rw drive

  • shakeelkhan Nov 06, 2007

    wait!

i just read your statement again you dont have "restore" CD?

doing all this not going to do any good if you dont have cd.

you need cd to restore you corrupt system your computer manufacturer can provide that for some fee.

  • shakeelkhan Nov 06, 2007

    yes,

you are doing good, now all is need is that cd.

  • shakeelkhan Nov 06, 2007

I dont have much experience with vista, but i would say ACER would be the web site to start looking for cd or contact them via email and ask for advice.

sorry i wish i could help more.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Hello Is there a way for me to down load recovery disc for Accer 3680-2682.

A recovery disk is generally created by Windows. I'm not familar with this machine, but if you want the drivers for the original hardware, those usually can be downloaded. What type of problem are you having?

Acer Aspire 3680 startup, blue screen & cursor only

  • prior to the recovery... have someone pull your hard drive and recover the "precious" files & pics on the drive... It's expensive at Best Buy... so watch out!!!
  • System recovery shouldn't have you loose all files.. if a recovery point is there... the trick is to only recover to the most recent point that you can. When Windows updates the software to Service Pack X for example, a recovery point would have been created automatically

How to restore my acer aspire 3680

You might try this. If it doesn't work, you may have to purchase a recovery CD. It is supposed to come with one.

This is from the Acer website:

Re-install bundled software without CD
Acer e-recovery Management stores pre-loaded software internally for easy
driver and application re-installation.
1 Boot to Windows XP.
2 Press <Alt> + <F10> to open the Acer e-recovery Management utility.
3 Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros.
4 In the Acer e-recovery Management window, select Recovery actions and
click Next.
5 In the Recovery settings window, select Reinstall applications/drivers and
click Next.
6 Select the desired driver/application and follow the instructions on screen
to re-install.
At first launch, Acer e-recovery Management prepares all the needed software
and may take few seconds to bring up the software content window.

Below is a link for Acer. You can see if it helps.
