Maytag m6x08f2a Air Conditioner fan speed problem

The auto/hi/lo fan speed keeps changing on its own among the three settings and will not remain where it is set. This may happen every 20 minutes or every 5 seconds; there is no pattern to it. The air filter is clean, the unit is properly installed and the electricity is fine.

Furnace transformer/fan-relay wiring to fan-motor

All you need is 2 fan speeds, 1 for cool and 1 for heat. Leave the low speed disconnected. Normally we have high speed for cooling, and med. or low for heat. So either speed connected to the heating circuit is fine.

Fan just started running siow

Hi, remove the cover to see if you can get to this fan motor. Turn it off and see if you can touch it to see how much heat it is giving off. I don't know the age, but you may be loosing this motor, or it may have a run capacitor on the side of it that is bad or going bad. This would be cheaper to check and replace then the motor. Most are oval, some are round like a small chrome soda can that will have wires coming out the top. Have this checked or changed. Go to your rv place to do this. Good luck,

Neither.
The fan should run in the 'auto' position.
If it runs (on hi and lo settings) then I doubt if anything is wrong with the fan motor.
I would think your thermostat is bad and needs replacing.

We want to change speed on air handler for unit Ruud UBHC-21A00NFA. We disconnected BLACK wire (Hi speed) and put in place of it RED (Lo speed). Is this correct to get Lo-speed on unit? Is there lower...

Hi, It depends on the make and model of the blower motor. You'll need to check this against the schematic (normally located within the electrical cavity) and work it from there. Some are two speed, some three. You can also look at the wires coming from the motor and check those that are taped off. There may be another wire, but check your schematic before changing any of the motor leads to the control board.

Air conditioner goes off when fan speed is increased

when it's on 'auto', the fan adjusts according to the temp in the car and the temp setting you have it set at. try setting the auto temp control down to 65, then hit the "-" one more time to send it to "LO" - the fan should automatically jump up to max.
