Central a/c blows warm to hot air

Installed a new Hunter thermostat a few weeks ago. All was cool (pun intended) until yesterday when the air was warm to almost hot. Called the Hunter Fan tech line. We reset the thermostat and all was ok until about an hour ago when it started blowing warm air again.
Need advice ASAP!

- Yes it is. But its not warm/hot air all the time.
We turned it off for awhile then reset the thermostat. Started blowing cold air for a short time (5-10 minutes) then warm/hot air again.
We rent--the landlady will NOT pay to have it looked at, let alone have it fixed..
Glad the temps will be cooler this coming week in SE Mi..

Thanks for the reply..

- When I was on the phone with Hunter Fan, the service tech asked about the wires. I told him what color was where and he said that was good. I will have my husband check the wires on the furnace to make sure none are touching when we turn on the a/c Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

- The furnace is a Williamson Temp-O-Matic. I can't find anymore info on it. Worked great last night after being off for a few days. Just tried it again and it started blowing cool air then after about 5 minutes, it started blowing warm air again. The furnace stays on after I switch to off on the thermostat. I had to turn it off at the switch on the furnace..

- some more info I found inside the furnace (very hard to read) Williamson gas-fired forced air furnace model 1114-10-6 style S 51 serial D 803 9052 (first three digits month and year) I also wrote down the wiring: 3 screws w/wires top row: left--- white and yellow middle-- blue (green?) right--- black and white 2 screws w/wires bottom row: left--- black and red right--red The white and the red wires on the left side screws come from one white wire. The yellow, blue, white and red on the other screws all come from a different white wire. The black wires look like a split-end power cord. I can't see where any are touching another wire. And I can't see any bare wire except around the screws. I sure hope you can understand my description. Thanks again for all your help.

Do you have a heat pump? Is your furnace firing up when the 'hot air' comes out? The wiring on the stat should be considered. If you have the old stat and cut the wires and left remnants of the old wires attached, you can see how it was wired. Generally on a conventional a/c system. Y or Y1 is cooling and should have a yellow wire hooked in. W or W1 is heating and should have a white wire. You should then open your air handler/furnace door and you will see where the wires are fed from the stat. Be sure they coincide with how you wired at the stat. If you have a heat pump there will also be additional wires. If this is the case re post.

Sorry to keep asking you all the questions, but I need to be sure the wiring to the furnace is correct and also the the stat. Usuall there are four wires from furnace to stat red, white, yellow(sometimes blue), green there is also a jumper wire on stat form RC to RH if you have a normal split system. Lets check the wiring and see what you have for me. Also I was asking if the burners are on when you turn ac on may have a short double check to make sure no wires are touching. also switch furnace power off while doing any wiring on low voltage or you may blow a fuse inside the furnace Need model and make of furnace and ac to better help you Thanks for your patience
