Do you have a heat pump? Is your furnace firing up when the 'hot air' comes out? The wiring on the stat should be considered. If you have the old stat and cut the wires and left remnants of the old wires attached, you can see how it was wired. Generally on a conventional a/c system. Y or Y1 is cooling and should have a yellow wire hooked in. W or W1 is heating and should have a white wire. You should then open your air handler/furnace door and you will see where the wires are fed from the stat. Be sure they coincide with how you wired at the stat. If you have a heat pump there will also be additional wires. If this is the case re post.
Sorry to keep asking you all the questions, but I need to be sure the wiring to the furnace is correct and also the the stat. Usuall there are four wires from furnace to stat red, white, yellow(sometimes blue), green there is also a jumper wire on stat form RC to RH if you have a normal split system. Lets check the wiring and see what you have for me. Also I was asking if the burners are on when you turn ac on may have a short double check to make sure no wires are touching. also switch furnace power off while doing any wiring on low voltage or you may blow a fuse inside the furnace Need model and make of furnace and ac to better help you Thanks for your patience
check to see if furnace is coming on with ac cycle
