Re: Casio LK 200 and smf software

If you have the smart card slot you can save your songs to the memory card by using Anvil Studio which is a free program. Save your midi song in Format 0 and be sure to use channel 4 for right hand playing and channel 3 for left hand. Be sure to keep the file size under 80k if you have other channels active for other instruments!

Go to and download the SMF Converter. This will allow you to convert MIDI files to a format that you can use on your Casio keyboard.

How to convert midi files into smf data files for casio 810in?

i found this for you
SMF Converter is software that converts commercially available Standard MIDI file (SMF) data to a format that is supported by CASIO electronic musical instruments, and then transfers the converted data to the instrument. After data is transferred, it can be used with the lesson function for lesson play. For details about using converted data, see the user documentation that comes with each instrument. click the blue download button near bottom of page.---- not the four other links.

You can't use SDCARD for CTK810 model.

Please connect to a computer using a USB cable. Then you can use a commercial MIDI file player to play to your keyboard.
Alternatively, you can download SMF Converter from
This program will convert SMF (.mid files) into a format readable by your Casio keyboard and then load it directly into your keyboard.

CTK810 smf converter fow windows 7

You need to get latest USB driver for Windows 7 (both 32bits and 64 bits available) at:

I think the SMF converter though is a 32 bits application will work on windows 7 provided the correct USB driver has been installed.

I have a casio lk-44. I want to be able to play a song from the songbank, but just hear the background rhythm and not the melodies. I want to play the melody myself from the songbank. When I pick a song...

Not sure if your "booklet" is the full user manual... if not go to this site and go through their "hoops" and download the full user manual. It shows how to put the unit in the mode that merely lights the keys and plays the rhythm, unlike the "demo" mode.

Note the manual is free via the Retrevo site... just have some of those annoying hoopps like email address and entering numbers.

SMF converter for wk-500, Does it exist?

I have a Wk-8000 & a CDP-200R, the later is the same as wk-500 but with 88 weighted hammer keys.

Since wk-500 can play SMF (Midi 0 & 1) format directly from a SD card and there is enough polyphony to play anything, I don't find any real reason to convert SMF to any "Casio Format". Just get a 2GB SD card and put your SMF files in the MUSDAT folder for the SD CARD using your PC/MAC.

I was also looking for the manual on-line which an e-bay seller told me was available. Not from Casio, but someone was nice enough to scan in a manual at It is in PDF format, so you will need to download it and view it with Acrobat reader or similar. Not the greatest quality as it is just a copy, but certainly readable.

Anvil Studio is an easy way to prep midi files for keyboard use, save channels 3 & 4 "left & right" in Midi 0 format and it will light the keys properly. Keep your file size under 80k!
