Dark View Finder?

I have a Canon 350D with a Sigma 170 - 500 which i have been using for a year without problems until the other day and now the view finder is very dark? The shutter speed is now too slow to take photos. All my other lenses work perfectly fine. Please help?

The short answer is check the aperture. If the aperture is to high (it's using a big F Stop) it will slow down the shutter speed.

When I take a picture with the Canon Rebel, it doesn't focus in the view finder, but when I look at the picture after it has been taken, it is clear and in focus. Why can't it looked focused when looking...

Good day,

The problem you might be having is that the view finder is out of focus.
If this is the problem it is an easy fix.
You will see a small wheel next to the view finder (it has a + and a - next to it), look through the view finder and let the camera focus on an object. Now turn the wheel and you will see the image either get worse or start to come in focus. Adjust the wheel until you are satisfied with the clarity.

Please let me know if this was helpful!

Cant view image by lcd sreen have to look through view finder

THis could be a problem with one of the internal sensors. Here is a company that can fix it. https://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/quote/cart.asp?iProbID=35&mo=29
They also include a cleaning as part of your repair.

How can you use the LCD screen in lieu of looking through the view finder to take pictures. This is for a Canon EOS Rebel XT.

Im afraid your camera does not have live view so therefore you will have to use the viewfinder to take your images and view them back on the lcd screen.

Images thru view finder are blurry

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

You can reset the camera to factory settings. If after that, you still have the same problem, make valid the Canon warranty since it's 4 months old.

The Xti (400D) does NOT have live view. This was first introduced on the Xsi (450D).

How do i get the picture to display on the lcd instead of using the view finder?

You can't do this on a D-SLr without Live View. The 350D does not have Live View. So you can't do this.
