Code 10 = this device is either not present,is not working properly,or does not have all the drivers installed(it may also be a manufacturer specific code)
Make sure it is connected properly,if that doesn't work try updateing the driver from the driver tab.

Connect to PC and use device manager to repair

If you have a Philips HDD Series, it will not work with Windows Vista or Windows Media Player 11 except for briefly, then the player will stop working one day. Your only hope is to use it with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 - it is, basically, an obsolete player at this point in time.

The Philips Device Manager has a strange feature - it only properly updates your device if you have the newest version of the Device Manager:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Update" tab

My 8gb mp3 player keeps saying connect player to pc when i do that it downloads all the stuff needed for it but it still wont fix the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all, I have to chastise you for not posting your problem in the right section. Every Philips mp3 player model is different, so you are just inviting bad/wrong answers by doing such a thing.

Now, that's over with... If your player's model number starts with HDD, it is probably already too late to fix it. The HDD models are
incompatible with both Vista and Windows Media Player 11. If you have Vista, forget about this player. If you have XP, roll back your Windows Media Player to version 10 and try running a Repair in Philips Device Manager - the damage might already be done, but it is worth a shot.

If you have an SA model GoGear, get the latest Philips Device Manager from www.usasupport.philips.com. Make sure you enter your correct model # in the website, or you will damage your player. Run an Update in the updated Philips Device Manager to upgrade the firmware to fix the freezing issue. Philips has a weird quirk that if you want to really upgrade the firmware, you have to also update the Philips Device Manager first or the Device Manager from the CD will give you a false positive: "Your device is already up to date."

No works touch pad

Uninstall Musicmatch Jukebox completely from your computer. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and rollback to version 10. Make sure you are NOT running Windows Vista.
The install the version of the Device Manager from Philips' website. Then try plugging in again.
Recovery Mode for Philips' GoGear
Open the Philips Device Manager (Start à All Programs à Philips Digital Audio Player àXXX à Philips Device Manager) and click on the “Repair” tab.  Then click on the “Repair” button to start the repair process.  Most of the time, when your player is in that state, the Device Manager will not recognize that your GoGear is plugged in.  If this is the case: Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded.
Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Mps is frozen with picture of a battery on it

Generally it is found that main capacitor in it gets dry solder.

FIRST..Try reformatting and reinstall the firmware.

Then check your version of Windows Media Player.

Start the program
Look for the 'Help' option along the top of the window (push Alt-H if you don't see it)
Select 'About Windows Media Player'

Your version should be displayed somewhere in the window that comes up. If you have anything lower than 10 you will need to upgrade. If you already have WMP 10 or higher check Device Manager and see if the player is showing up in there with an error. To open Device Manager follow the steps below.

Open the start menu
Right click on My Computer (or Computer if you have Vista)
Select 'Manage'
Select 'Device Manager' on the left side

Look for anything showing up in Device Manager with a question mark or exclamation point. If you see the MP3 player showing up this way then right click on it and select 'Uninstall' from the menu. Then disconnect and reconnect your player.
Hope this works

Have a nice day!

My computer don't found my mp3

The HDD1630 is only compatible with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10.

If you have Windows Media Player 11, unistall it to roll back to version 10.

Install and run the Philips Device Manager from the product CD.

Connect the HDD1630 to the power supply and connect to the PC.

The MP3 player should show as an MTP device. There should be a connection icon on the player screen.

Start Windows Media Player, and select the SYNC option to transfer music.

Computer doesnt recognise when connected

Code 10 means it cannot find the drivers.

Most of the newest MP3 players are designed to run with Windows Media Player version 10 or higher, this contains all of the drivers necessary for installation and recognition.

Best of Luck.
