When you make copies on your copy machine, does it ever leave a black vertical line ... QLS ' How to Eliminate Vertical Linesfrom Scans, Copies & Faxes ... Part 2- Fix or repair color laser printer with fading, light print, or lines ...
are you printing from Doc feeder or glas?? if from feeder then try to make a copy from the glass, does it still do it? yes problem is with drum. No? problem is with the small scanning glass to the left, look carefully see if any spots or lines on the 1inch glas --- clean it
PLACE A PLAIN PIECE OF WHITE PAPER IN MACHINE AND TAKE A COPY. IF NO LINES ARE ON IT THEN THE LINES ARE COMING FROM THE MACHINE THAT IS SENDING TO YOU BUT IF U DO HAVE THE LINES THEN PRINT HEAD IS PROBABLY FAULTY OR DIRTY.
Check the wondow where the paper passes to be scanned. You will probably find some debris or white out stuck on the glass. That is usually the cause of vertical lines on sent faxes.
Try making a copy of something or printing a transmission report or journal from the "reports" menu. If the same problem is apparent on these printouts, then your drum unit or toner cartridge need to be replaced
Open the front of the fax machine. Then pull down the the tray that has the down arrow imprinted on it. Locate the glass strip towards the back, just behind the center roller. Use a cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the glass and that should remove the black line.
Here is the scoop! There are two (2) components to the fax machine, one is the scanner portion which is located just past where the paper you are copying or faxing enters the machine, separate the two sides and access the imaging plate, clean this area with denatured alcohol. Step two is to clean the toner and drum unit, get the mirror at the back of the toner and under the toner. If after this you are still getting lines on the prints you will have to replace the drum unit KX FA-84 about $85. Happy faxing, Ken
