PLACE A PLAIN PIECE OF WHITE PAPER IN MACHINE AND TAKE A COPY. IF NO LINES ARE ON IT THEN THE LINES ARE COMING FROM THE MACHINE THAT IS SENDING TO YOU BUT IF U DO HAVE THE LINES THEN PRINT HEAD IS PROBABLY FAULTY OR DIRTY.

Your brother can send faxes without printing the pages try your computer just you should download the driver.
You can download the driver from this link: " http://download.cnet.com/Brother-MFC-8220-USB/3000-2118_4-65318.html ".
About the lines which appear on the print, you will have to buy a Drum unit for your Brother 575, because the drum cleaning blade has quit working and there is no other way to fix this only by putting a new drum unit.
note: the drum unit is different from the toner cartridge, but if you search good you can find them together for lower price.
Try making a copy of something or printing a transmission report or journal from the "reports" menu. If the same problem is apparent on these printouts, then your drum unit or toner cartridge need to be replaced
start a print from tray 1/manual feed and just as the trailing edge of paper is entering the machine;quickly open it to stop print and take out the cartridge and look at it's drum and the paper underneath. if the issue is there at that point then it would point to the cartridge. if not then the fuser Let me know.... If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Do your incoming faxes have the same marks?
If not you might find that the scanning part of your machine has a dirty mark on the glass or that the unit has become faulty.
Try and take a copy from the machine and print from a report or any print from memory.
If you have the black lines on both then i'd suggest getting a new drum unit, if u have it only on the copy I would have a look at your scanner glass and see if there is a dirty mark on it. if not maybe call out an engineer as the scanner unit maybe faulty.
Need anymore help msg me.
This is a workaround - I too need a definitive answer. Symptom: black dotted vertical line 1/2 to 3/4" from leftmost image edge. I have begun adding single vertical line to my prints .25" from the left edge of the paper to force the "dots" off my print - this seems to have the desired affect, but it does not answer the cause or provide a true remedy (it will save many of your prints while we wait for complete solution). dkh
This maybe your cleaning blade, your drum or the fuser unit....the best way to find out is to make a copy a to stop it before it's getting to the fuser unit ( that's the thing very hot). If you see your border it's your cleaning or drum...But when you replace a drum you must replace the cleaning blade to !
