My acer laptop (Aspire 3680) has a white screen. Ican hear windows coming on but nothing is showing up on the screen. Please help me !!! Tracy Torain

There is a video on Youtube that corrects this problem albeit temporarily. What you have is a bad LCM cable. This is the cable that supplies the signal to the screen from the laptop's motherboard. Since laptops flex this cable whenever you open and close the lid, the cable breaks a couple of wires and the screen goes white.

The temporary fix keeps the machine working but in the long term you need to get the LCM cable replaced.

You can replace it yourself if you have a small screwdriver
  • Carefully remove all the screws from the bezel and mounting bracket that holds the screen to the plastic lid.
  • There will be securing tape that attaches the LCM cable to the back of the screen, so once removed you can wiggle the connector loose and then you may find a screw secures it at the other end, remove the connector on the board and replace with the new cable.

How do you replace a laptop screen l555d serial number...its a toshiba.

1. Turn off the computer and remove the battery.
2. Loosen the plastic frame bordering the Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7005 Screen. This frame is attached to the notebook's back shell and holds the screen in place. Pry open two to six small rubber seals from the frame and undo concealed screws.
3. Detach the frame after removing all screws. Hold the bezel from either side of the screen and gently pull it away from the screen and toward you. If the bezel seems to be stuck, find any points of attachment, such as clips or hooks, and undo to detach it from the outer shell. Work with your fingers and go all around the frame to release and completely detach it.
4. Free the LCD panel from its position in the notebook's lid. When you remove the bezel, you will notice that the screen is held in place, enclosed in hinges. Undo screws from either side of the screen to release its attachment to the lid. Place a finger at the top center of the screen to keep it from falling down as you remove the screws. With all screws undone, tilt the panel and lower it face down onto the keyboard.
5. Disconnect the power cable and video cable from the screen. The power cable connects the screen's power source of the lcd inverter to the backlight lamp attached to a side of the panel. Unplug cables from either end of the inverter board and unscrew the board from the base of the screen. Next, find and unplug the video cable a broad, ribbon like arrangement taped to the back of the panel. Pull at the plastic head of the cable to detach it.
6. Remove the screen. With the screen's cables unplugged and inverter board removed, it is completely detached from the notebook's display assembly and may be safely removed. Pick up the panel from the keyboard and keep it to a side.
7. Orient the replacement screen by bringing it to the work area and aligning it to the laptop's shell. Gently rest the screen on the keyboard and attach the power cable and the video cable. Raise the screen and attach the inverter board to its base. Plug in the inverter board's cable to the screen's backlight lamp. Screw the screen in place and reorganize the display assembly.

NO display on touchscreen when slide out the keyboard

Hello there,

The problem you are facing with your phone is as a result of a bad flex connector cable which is attached behind your screen.the flex carries the signal from the panel mechanism of the phone and interpretes it on the screen, since the flex cable is bad nothing whatsoever can be transmitted on the screen.

The solution is to take apart your phone ,starting from the screws behind the battery cover,

You will find a ribbon like cable which is attached directly behind the LCD screen of your phone, this is the flex connector cable that needs to be replaced in order to restore your phone back to a normal working condition.

Best of luck.

It wont download pictures to the computer

If I remember correctly, you needed to install the software and the drivers before connecting the camera by USB cable. It should all have been done with the camera not connected.
If you did it while it was connected, you must try uninstaling the software, and going into Device Manager and finding the specific driver fot that camera and Kodak, and removing that too.
Then restart your PC and start fresh.
Do the Software and Driver installation without the camera being installed or attached.
Once you have done the installation of software and driver, then, following the instructions, you can attach the camera and it should work this time.

Computer starts to boot up, but then nothing g but a black screen. Repeats the same process endlessly.

Please follow the following options :

1. Your operating system is corrupt. Now, you need to reinstall it or repair it.

2. Try to remove hard disk and then try. After that attach your hard disk but please check all the cable condition. If cable condition is bad then buy new one else attach your hard disk.

3. Clean your RAM by pencil eraser at the end. And also clean the RAM slot.

ACER 4315 flickering screen (very bad)

  1. First since it is only 3 months old. Bring it back to where you purchase it so that you can avail of the warranty.
  2. If for any reason you cant do that then try the following
  • Turn off your laptop
  • remove the LCD bezel by removing the rubber and screws
  • try to reinsert the cable that attaches the monitor to the INVERTER. The inverter is the one lighting up the screen. Usually this is located at the bottom of the screen
  • if this doesnt work then try to remove the LCD panel and reinsert the flex cable located at the back and see what happens
NOTE: make sure when you remove cable and re inserting them in, your laptop should not be attached to ac or battery.

i hope i was able to help

You cannot get any thing on screen no picture or anything

You could have a bad display (that would need replacing), or it could just be that the ribbon cable attaching the display to the board needs to be re seated, as it may have worked loose. I would open the phone and check that the screen is attached securely to the board.

The most basic way to reset this device is to hold the power button down for 15 - 20 seconds - if you have a charge on the battery in the player, this should do it.
