Unfortunately, you will not be able to use this machine with a digital phone line. It is only capable of receiving an analog signal, and cannot distinguish the digital incoming signal. You would be better off using a service to send and receive faxes via e-mail, or getting a digital fax machine. Sorry.

I work for comcast and the main problem with receiving fax's is, you have to have the voicmail through comcast set to 5 rings to pick up, and the fax maching must be set to 2 ring counts, with Brother fax machines this should fix the problem, with any other fax sometimes you have to also change the setting from anolog to digital. Always check with manual to make sure fax machine is digital compatible.

If you have an answering machine, have it answer at three rings. Have the fax answer at five rings. Let the answer machine go thru it's cycle, and see if the fax picks up.

Check the number of rings your fax machine is set to. Chances are, the answering machine is set up for 4 rings and the fax machine is set up for 6. If this is the case, change the number of rings on your fax machine to 2 or 3 rings to ensure an incoming fax will go directily to the fax machine. If the fax doesn't recognize the call as a fax, it will go through to the answering machine.
