Please tell me what is a hv error? What is a transfer/seperation unit? What is hv casings/sleeves? Sounds like a costly repair for a 10 year old copier. The thing is, it was a great copier until I got this error. Thanks for your help.
Re: To Blade Flip: RE: F-28-3 Error on a Konica 7020
When you open number 6 there is a corona unit in there(t/s unit) and on the adu outer door there is the casing unit, has 2 springs in it, wheh you take this off and split it the sleeves inside will be powdery. very simple to fit these items, not that costly either. It would be cost effective to buy the whole of number6 with the t/s unit in it. si

Replace the Transfer and Seperation housing which is located below the drum which has several very fine wires that carry HV during the copy process as the paper goes above them and below the drum placing the image on the paper.
F 28-03 The toner separation ON/OFF operation has been performed 5 consecutive times since the separation trouble detection signal was detected at start of toner separation. Please check the HV2 unit, the transfer/separation corona unit.If there is a paper in copiymg proces when this jam occurs the machine stops after completion of copied paper ejectiom.
There is arcing from the transfer corona, HV wires underneath the drum these thin wires provide a HV allowing transfer of the image from the drum to the paper, and allow seperation of the paper from the drum. (p/n 5400-2605)
High voltage circuit board is bad. Have you turn the macine off then back on (wait at least 10 second in between). to reset the machine and clear the code. if that code comes back after turning on and off. then a new circuit board is need. or have a service technician come out and look at the machine
check for arcing or poor connection. Check HV1 (p/n 26NA84011) connections and ground of HV, developing unit and the right side door HV casing for any arcing. Check PRDB (p/n 26TA-9021), CN27-4 for 24V DC while in idle or in the 47 mode w/o input. Attachments: ....you may need a tech to clean all of the above first.
you need to clean and reseat the charge unit in the drum section.and transfer unit on the right side door
if its a f-28-1 its the charge corona on the drum unit. more than likely its a f-28-3 though which is a seperation corona arch. these models were notorious for the insulating material that transfers voltage from the machine, to the door then back to the corona would eventually break down and start casuing arching.
what to look for, open the right side door and halfway down you will see a black peice of plastic sticking out that is attached by to screws. this needs to come off, but to get this off you will also need to remove the door opening bar. a total of 4 screws and you can have the black plastic peice in your hand. once off flip it over and open the back cover up. you will see 2 grey peicesof insulating material, one will be burnt the other will be fine. from here on it is up to you as to how you fix it. using an insulating tape that is cut to the opeing is an appropiate fix but it must be able to withstand high voltages. put it all back together and it should work.
