Question about Canon MV500i Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Every thing was working fine ,then the camera started to damage the tapes leading to the above message it now does not work at all as soon as you put a new tape in you get the message to remove it although it doesnt appear to damage tape now,if it was humidty it should have dried out as it happened in october when we were in greece Yes, I've had the same problem - went twice to the local repair shop to be fixed, once ok for a short while, but this time didn't really work at all. The shop thought twas no big deal - I'd agree if it now worked, but it doesn't, and it was a bit too expensive to consign to the dust heap. I wonder has anyone actually been able to sort this problem out. thanks for any tips.
It sounds like a mechanical problem (not a moisture problem). There's no quick and easy way to say what's wrong with it without actually tearing it apart and inspecting it. I would advise trying a repair shop other than the one you have already tried. If you can, find a canon authorized service center.
