Re: text message alerts

I tried assigning several different sounds, with and without vibrations, in the Settings section. It didn't make a difference. I suspect there is a software problem in the operating system. I know a couple of other ppc users with the same problem.
I'll try the link you probided. Thanks!

Re: text message alerts

In PhoneStart-->Settings and Sounds&Notifications, you can set each notification sound/light/vibration setting for several different things on the phone.

If you want to disable the message after sending an SMS message, go to :

and install that on your phone for MANY more options. Your SMS message notification disable is the first option on the program!

My HTC Touch Cruise (09) will not stop vibrating every time received a text message, unless I send a reply to that message. The alert tone for sms has also stopped functioning, even though I have the phone...

Please turn off your phone for 5-10 minutes and then turn it on and then try to change the settings for your alerts.
Hope this will work for you.

Nokia e50 wont notify me when i recieve a new text message

Hello there! thanks for using!

Try the following instructions, to personalize your Nokia E50!
Warning: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use other features that require network
coverage. Calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. To make calls,
you must first activate the phone function by changing profiles. If the device has been locked, enter the lock code.

Select Menu > Tools > Profiles.
You can adjust and customize the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller
To customize a profile, scroll to the desired profile in the list, and select Options > Personalise.
Define the following settings:
Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Tone downloads to open a bookmark folder containing a list of
bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser. To listen to the selected tone, select Play. If you have two alternate
phone lines in use, you can specify a ringing tone for each line.
Say caller's name — Activate the text-to-speech ringing tone feature. When someone from your contacts list calls you, the
device sounds a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the contact and the selected ringing tone.
Ringing type — Select how you want the ringing tone to alert.
Ringing volume — Select the volume level of the ringing tone.
Message alert tone — Select a tone for received text messages.
Or you may still go to this website for more info!

Message alerts aren't working

Make sure that you have text notifications set on in the preferences section of your message options. You may have to do a reset on your device because sometimes script errors occur on the phones and causes simple things like that to stop working. Also, check to make sure that you have version 1.07 on your phone. That is the most updated version which addresses many script issues, networking issues, and volume issues, along with improved security.

Text Message alert???

In order to use tones other than the presets for text messages, you have to put new .WAV files on your phone. Any 8bit .WAV file will work; just connect with ActiveSync and navigate to your /Windows directory on your phone, and place the files there. You will then be able to use them as text message alert tones.
