The manual gives next steps to setup the volume:

1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move down to Settings and select it.
3. Select Volume.
4. Highlight the desired volume settings then press Select button.

you may have it at the max volume limit thing. go to settings and then change the volume settings to high

Try rubbing alcohol on the area. might just need to be cleaned

My problem seems to be a damaged volume button. Once I tour the volume down (the down button is fine) I could not increase back de volume.
This is a palliative sollution. You need to reset you Sansa clip to get the volume set to the "middle" of the range. To steps are:
1) clique in the "home" button.
2) navigate to "settings"
3) select the "Reset All" option and confirm it.

The volume bar of my mp3 seems to go down, I dont know what to do??????!!!!!!>>>>

Take the warranty and the MP3 and go to the shop from where you bought. They will repair for you.
