I bought the Intellifax 2480C. I just tried to install the software It installed printer driversI cannot use scanner I try to install disk 1 in the downloaded stuff I get "An error occured during the installation Please restart your PC, ensure all active applications are closed - Then reinstall MFL-Pro Suite (IS015 - GetModelInformation - 7)""

at first uninstall the driver of your printer and re install it then u can able to copy a document on your computer

Pull down the ink door and then push down on the ink to be replaced, it is locked and spring loaded. When you push down on the ink it will release and allow you to remove it from the machine. Just throw it away and install the new ink in the revese order.

Did you have the no cartridge prompt on before you changed the cartridge? If no, then did you remove all packing material. Is this the first time you have changed the cartridge?

1. Uninstall all hp printer software and Reboot your computer
2.Download the Driver for windows Vista (if you go to HP website it should give you an option to Choose you OS)
3.DO NOT connect any cables when you are installing the software
4.You system will ask you to connect the USB cable (doing that before can mess up the whole set up)
5. You are all set

You can go to brother.com and look under the '"Support" heading for downloads that are free of charge and download what ever drivers you need.

I also have the same machine and it says in the book using you adf as a flatbed scanner, unfortunatley it does'nt tell you how.
If this machine doesn't do what they say than it should be recalled. after all they''re the ones who claim it does in there manual. very misleading!

The separation pad is worn. Thats what keeps more than 1 from going in. It is a rubber rectangle shaped part probably on the upper part of the document feeder that you lift up. They ware out. Lawrence

Is this a all in one scanner/printer/fax/copier? What is the model???
1. Use the software disk that came with the device as opposed to trying to add it via plug and play and letting the PC recognize it. The drivers are on the CD.

Plug in the power cord
Plug the phone cord into the LINE port of the fax.
It should be set to AUTO RECEIVE out of the box.

How to install it as what? A fax machine? Or a printer/scanner?

To install as a FAX, just plug a phone line cord into the port that says "Line", plug the power cord in and you're done.

As a printer, go to Brothers web site and download the software for your machine. Install the software, plug a USB cable into the machine and the computer and follow the on screen instructions. It's really that simple.
