SOURCE: Cd problems
I took care of this problem by removing my cd player and reinstalling it that is disconnecting all wires and then reinstalling it from scratch. I would also recommend that you should use a cd lens cleaner to prevent dust from covering the lens inside the player. But my problem was largely an installation one.

yeah your best bet is to double check the wiring and it you still cant figure it out..the easiest fix is run new wire to each speaker that will insure that nothing is messed up in the wire harness of the vehicle

if it has a face plate and most after market radios do then it may not have a good connection check and make sure it does maybe even clean them with alcohol also make sure you got a good ground it may not have enough power to come on all the way (<-- rarely is the case) but it sounds like a bad radio

to solve the problem with it turning off when u turn your lights on is that on the back side of your radio is a spot that says max and something else keep your ground wires conected just how they are but get u a a 14 to 12 gage wire a cut u about 6 inches and use one end and connect to your other ground wires (with Connecters ) and the other end and with a closed end connecter with the little hole in the center i cant place wat its called but any ways put it where that max hole thing is where there is a screw there and that should fix that problem cause i had that happen before .. but make sure your antentia is pluged iin to ok .. good luck Paul,
