Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My rca tv will turn on then turn off 3 times in a row then i have to wait 60 seconds before i can try it again. it will not stay on
Hi Kim8876 It seems to be the ballast from your tv which doesn't have enough voltage on it to keep up with your lamp, i know this guys at discountdashmerchantdotcom check the, out the tech support is great, they'll be able to help you a lot :)

I posted this solution earlier, but it applies here too.
The problem happens to be a series of capacitors. your TV uses the ITC222 Thomson chassis and it has a flaw in which CP150, CP140, and CP120 dries out and then explodes or becomes bloated and causes the problem you are reporting. Here is a URL to get the schematic daiagram:
Once you have the schematic, the actual component is on the Deflection board (the one on your right hand side facing the back of the set. The component is behind a heat sink with a transistor on it. Now make sure you find all three capacitors (the two other are on the same deflection board).
I hope this helps,
