Question about Solis Master 5000 Espresso Machine

We had replaced our boiler on our Solis Master 5000 about 6 months ago, and everything was working perfectly fine until now....It will only deliver a partial cup. I've descaled and cleaned the machine, that seemed to help. It makes a lot of noise, delivers about 1/4 to 1/2 cup, then the red trouble light comes on. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks for the reply!!! I ended up replacing the boiler unit again, and this resolved the problem.

Hi
That sounds like your grind is too fine. Try turning the big knob in the bean hopper to a larger #, but you are probably getting a plug in the brew head. Here are some directions.
Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front, towards the door (looks like an "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring with a black seal (don't loose it or your out of luck).
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON'T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.....
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. 1 big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Then the spring with black seal down.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the handle side. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head.
Install in machine and test

After cleaning my solis, the machine wont switch back on. i've checked power supply and made sure the service door is closed.

Hi
On Master 5000's there is either a fuse or reset button on the back side of the boiler. The fuse is under a clamp on the side. The reset button is between the 2 black wires (white terminals) on the back of the boiler (front of the boiler is towards the front of the machine). If you machine is 2004 or older then you might have a fuse (they made the switch in 2004).

Hi. Can you tell me is it possible to change the boiler temperature in my Solis Master 5000 (not digital). Cos the temperature of just prepared coffee is low enough that I can drink it with one sip.

Hi
Masters are usually too hot, and its unusual for one to be cool. It could be the sensor on the back of the boiler. Its the double orange wires. It might have to be replaced. When your in there check the boiler for white line by the seam of the boiler just to be sure.

If we plug in the Solis Coffeemaker, the electrical circuit trips. What happened? It is a 5000 Espressep Machine. We always treated it with care.

Hi
I would suspect the boiler is leaking and shorting. Common problem when you don't descale on a regular basis or descale incorrectly. Any high temperatures during descaling will turn the gasket hard and brittle causing the leak. If not done enough the scale builds up and expands the boiler causing the leak.

Solis Master 5000 is leaking water from underneath machine when not in use.

HI
The most common problem for leaking underneath the machine is the boiler, but there can be other problems. If the water is dirty, there is a drain behind the brew unit that gets clogged with coffee residue, If its clear, its probably the boiler. If its the boiler it needs replacing. Check ebay.

No hot water

Hi
The boiler is bad or you have a bad board. I would suspect the boiler. You could have a wire off the boiler but I doubt that unless its the old pin type.

Grinder not working on my solis master 5000

Order the replacement boiler, (be sure to empty all of the hot water from the boiler first using the hot water function on the right side of your Solis) take your time and open the machine up, the top comes off. There are 3 mounting screws that hold the boiler in place, remove them, be sure to take hold of the boiler before removing the last mounting screw. Remove and replace the wires and 2 water hoses (w/clips). The orange wires the connect to a unique plastic harness are clipped into the harness. Look closely and you'll see a little window in the plastic harness at the end of each orange wire. Use a tooth pick or a pointed device and push the metal clips thru these windows, this unlocks the wires for removal from the boiler.

SOLIS MASTER 5000

Try descaling your machine, because it may be clogged. Boilers heat up the water to produce steam. If descaling doesnt work you may have a boiler related problem.

Find descaler on www.CeriniCoffee.com
