How to free Pitcher blades from sticking?
You need to lock the blades from turning and undo the bottom clutch drive in such a way as you do not damage it. I use an old motor clutch drive to undo them myself. It has a left hand thread and a block of wood to hold the blade. Then you can remove the blade with shaft from the brass bush to clean and lubricate it. If the brass bush has moved up in the plastic housing you need to press/bang it down again. Then reassemble. If you wreck the clutch drive on the blade you will need to buy a new blade assy if it is separate to the beaker, if not you will need a beaker and blade unit complete.

I am looking at the same problem, the aluminum bottom part (on blade assembly) that contacts the black rubber on the motor part is no longer "attached" to shaft that drives the blade on top side. So like said the top and bottom "turn freely" but independent of each other.... not good, they should be one piece. Ebay does not have a replacement for this original part in my case and would have to buy a complete jar assembly. I will attempt to fix the original one by cutting a slot through aluminum and center shaft and dropping in a pin to make them turn together, with a spot of weld to hold pin to shaft... not sure how long this will last.... unless somene has a better idea to fix it?

The "code" you are seeking is found in the serial number, which has a specific way of noting when the unit is manufactured.
