the spare parts won't be so much, if you try and fix it yourself, you will save a ton of money otherwise it could be around $100 to send it in and get it fixed. You can start finding the problem by opening the screws on the bottom/back of the camera and find what gears are jammed and won't zoom. or I can get you a number to call to send it in, thanks
My camera started bringing up
"system error (zoom)" and it was completely inoperable. I would turn it off, but the lens wouldn't retract unless I applied slight pressure to it. I was able to FIX this problem by applying some lubricant
oil to a Q-tip and swiping it around the telescoping parts of the lens,
being very careful to stay away from the actual lens. I turned the
camera on and off a few times so the oil could work its way into the
parts, and it fixed the problem. I don't know if it will be a long term
solution, but I can at least download my pictures to my computer now!
if they have support page yes that could be a solutions..but..the most cameras today you just need to connect on computer and it will start upload pics by it self...try to download this software....PICASA 3
look on google...good luck
I had the same problem, i switched the camera on in capture mode and zoomed in and applied a little pressure to the lens which made a slight click but retracted and has worked fine since. I may of just been lucky but the camera is fully functional again, could be worth a try.
go towalmart or Walgreen's and have your photos downloaded to a cd then you can format the card and your problem will be fixed.Do not forget to leave a feedback but before leaving a negative feedback let me know if that does not correct your issue. bad feed back hurts my ratings and I am just tiring to help you with this issue.
Hello Sammy,
The lens assembly is a very delicate part of any camera. It contains small servo-motors and inductance coils along with the actual lens. Even service centers are having trouble managing to fix this and these problems lead in most of the cases in the replacing of the camera's lens assembly. I recomand you to go to a service center, present them the problem and then ask them for a cost estimate before they do something with it.
I'm sorry this is not what you wanted to hear. Back some time in our history sultans killed the messangers who delivered bad news. :)
