Question about Hayward H Series Induced Draft Abg 100,000 Heater
THE POOL HEATER FIRES THEN GOES OUT AFTER 5 MIN. THE FAN KEEPS RUNNING BUT SEEMS TO GO INTO THE SLOWER SPEED. I CLEANED THE BURNER AND CHECKED THE WIRING CONNECTIONS. FILTER PRESSURE IS FINE.AFTER ABOUT 1 HOUR I CAN FIRE IT UP AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS.
Sounds like it is cycling on high limit; causes are related to water flow through the heat exchanger or a faulty high limit(doubtful given the heater cycles back on). Check the internal bypass for obstructions; has anyone worked on it recently? There are usually two high limit switches with different trip temperatures; installing the wrong one could also be the culprit. Does the heater "bang" before it goes off (a sign that the water is boiling inside the tube bundle)?
