SOURCE: my samsung NV3 camera takes great videos but I

It's because that camera records video in MPEG-4 format. I believe the easiest solution is to download the free quick time player and play your videos on that. Just Google quick time player.

SOURCE: whenever i download a video form the net it says unsupported codec

If you can't play videos once you've successfully installed the YouTube for Mobile app, one of the following issues may be causing the problem:

  • Your phone may not support streaming video. Check by trying to play a video at http://m.youtube.com
  • Your streaming video access point may need to be configured outside of YouTube for Mobile. Depending on your phone and mobile data provider, this access point may need to be the same or different from YouTube's. For more help with these settings, please see the "Access Settings" article.
  • If you've successfully played videos with YouTube for Mobile before, your network connection may not be strong enough at the moment. Please try again later.
  • Your carrier might block RTSP traffic which is required to transfer the video.

    hope this helps

Can play video but no sounds

You need to plug in your head phone or stereo that is at back to the cabinet of your cpu.
If this fails then you also need to install the appropriate driver for your motherboard to feeling sound.

My sound is not work..i instaled the driver, at realtek manager demo i hear, but at movie, song, or youtube..not work...i have motherboad asusM2A-VM ...ty

I hate to say it, but I often run into problems with my audio dying when I'm attempting to adjust the audio properties on a flash-based video stream. The only way I can get it to reset without rebooting is to throw my PC into "Stand By" and then bringing it back out of it. This resets all of the multimedia hardware on my PC. It's crude, but it works.

My pc is not playing audio files & playing videos only & video are mute.I want to say no audio is heard.

You need to install Codec pack as all of the video/audio format will not be supported by the operating systems.

Open www.filehippo.com
On the right hand side, you will see K-Lite Codec Pack
Download and install it then you will be able to hear sound.

As an alternate, you can use VLC media player which supports almost of all formats.

Download VLC Player:

The sound works fine except when you play dvds- it has no sound whatsoever

This is very likely a codec problem. A codec is a software component used with video and audio players that translates the electronic media file into something that can be displayed. Most of the time, the video codec will be out of date and you'll hear the audio but not see any video. You've got the reverse problem, obviously.

Unfortunately, Microsoft does not make this easy. Even the latest download of codecs from Microsoft doesn't necessarily update the Windows Media Player to play any DVD. You will need to do a codec search and download the latest. Last time I checked, 'download.com' had them available (this is CNet's download website). Good luck!

AUDIO PROBLEM HELP PLEASE

In whatever player you are using for video with audio on the Internet check the player controls that mute is not selected or the volume is not turned down. These players will work audio independently of the volume properties sliders.

If this approach is not consistent with your problem you may need to repair your audio codecs on your machine a good program to install that will add-in codecs and repair any broken codes is K-Lite. You can get it from this location. Select a download mirror and then allow or start the download. Once you have downloaded it install it and let all the default settings ride.

Let me know how this works out for you.

No audio device installed on my laptop

I'm not sure whether this is the exact same problem, as I was having, but mine just randomly quit while I was listening to music this morning. I got messages saying "No audio device installed", but when I went to device manager, all my audio devices said they were working properly. If this is the case with you, simply restart your computer. It may take a couple restarts, but this should work. My sound was back even before it finished shutting down.

If it helps anyone trying to get to the root of this problem, I am running XP on a Dell B130 laptop, with the following devices listed in Device Manager:
Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
Video Codecs
Hope this helps!
