Question about GE Supermicro X6DA8-G E7525 EM64T S604 Dual Xeon PCI-Ex/SATA/DDR/U320/EATX Mainboard (MBSMX6DA8G) Motherboard

1 Answer

Supermicro x6da8 won't post. Can't get into BIOS either.

Supermicro x6da8 won't post. It gets as far as successfully checking ram, cached SRAM passes, then it says System BIOS shadowed, then Video BIOS shadowed, then stop right there. It won't go any further, and cannot get into the BIOS.

Disconnect all power connections to the board and take the battery out for a few minutes and then put it all back and see if you can acess the bios. If you still cant, try a bios flash and if that brings you no joy, board is done

X7DBI+ bios password

Hello here is the homepage:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon1333/5000P/X7DBE.cfm

Remove the cmos battery on the mainboard for like 15 min. and inset the battery again.

This will clear the bios and remove the password.

But you have to setup the bios clock, date, boot settings, when the pass is gone.

The cmos battery look like this:

Please take antistatic precautions when working on the maniboard.

Good luck

Supermicro x9dai won't post, beep, boot or much of anything else

this motherboard won't work with latest v2 cpu's from intel , until you upgrade your bios to 3.0 version.(you must plug your 8pin conector for cpu's , both of them !!!!!).So you must start the mb with an older cpu , then upgrade bios .

Supermicro x8sax memory bank issues

The X8SAX motherboard has 6 memory slots. Try booting with one memory stick in each slot to identify which memory bank (dimm slot) is giving you issues. If you are able to boot off of a good slot, check the BIOS version to make sure you have the latest installed (R 2.0b). It can be downloaded here: Super Micro Computer Inc Products Motherboards Xeon Boards X8SAX

If you are unable to get into the BIOS at all, check the warranty status and submit an RMA request to Supermicro:

SuperMicroX6DH8-xg2 no POST beep no Video I remove RAM and reseatd RAM but still no POST

If it's 1 long and 2 short beeps it's a video controller error. Check the warranty status and RMA if possible: http://www.supermicro.com/support/rma/

If it's 1 repetitive long beep, it means that no memory is detected. Try booting with only 1 stick of RAM. Try different dimm slots to see if you can isolate the issue. You may have a few modules that do not want to work together, a bad stick of RAM, or a defective dimm slot.

The vga doesn't work

You need the latest drivers to make sure there are are no problems & you can download them from

http://www.drivers-updates.net/drivers/motherboard-drivers/SUPERMICRO-Motherboards-drivers.html

The only other reason is hardware failure for which there is no other solution but to use a separate graphics card on a PCI slot of the motherboard to get proper display.
The last option would be to change your motherboard.
