Question about Computers & Internet
MY COMPAQ PRESARIO NOTEBOOK CQ50 110EM - DOES NOT BOOT UP. THE SCREEN STAYS BLACK AND THE POWER AND CHARGE LED'S LIGHT UP AND THE FAN COMES ON BUT THE HARD DRIVE DOESNT, AND THE SCREEN REMAINS BLANK
PLEASE HELP I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. I TRIED TO RESET THE BIOS, DIDNT WORK.
The issue might be with the hard drive.
I recommend you to test the hard drive.
If the hard drive test fails, then it is confirmed that the issue is with the hard drive of your notebook.

I have the exact same problem but i tried the HDD RAM and batteries ( including bios battery ) in a cq60 and all work fine ive just been on the phone with hp and they recommend to clear cmos via the jumpers rather than leaving the cmos battery out for a few mins...
my cq50 does still boot into windows if i just leave it for anything up to 5 mins albeit rarely im going to try clearing cmos via the jumpers and hope that works if not it will more likely be a dead motherboard
